If You Give a Pig a Party is a fun MF book by Laura Numeroff. This book is about what happens when you simply want to give a pig a party! She'll go on to ask for balloons, decorate the house, and somehow end up at a street fair! This story comes full circle of what will happen if you throw a pig a party! This book is specifically an animal fantasy. #ucflae3414sp21
“When she's finished , she'll put on her favorite dress. Then she'll call all her friends to invite them to the party.“
I loved all of these “If you give a..“ books when I was a kid. I loved all the cute characters and how they always had fun adventures. I can remember these stories fondly and I hope that my future students will feel the same way about these stories too.
This picturebook tells the story of a cute pig who wants to have a party! Pig finds her friends at a fair and then they have a slumber party. This book is great for kids and I remember the story fondly from my childhood. I think that the story is relatable for most kids and you could do a lot of different activities with a story like this. I would highly recommend this story to people and I will have it in my classroom.
I love the entire journey they go on throughout this book. I think it really shows some imagination.
“ if you give a pig a party, she‘s going to ask for some balloons. When you give her the balloons, she‘ll want to decorate the house”
I love the very first page with a title on it. The picture below it is perfect for this book.
This book is part of a series of books that I love. It‘s all about what would happen if you gave a pig a party. As you start off with one thing you go through a whole adventure with the characters that always leads back to the original idea.

I had forgotten all about these!!! Thank you so much for sending them @LauraBeth I am going to be Pinterest-ing all afternoon to find fun ways to use them in my classroom 😊😊
My daughter makes me giggle. I am constantly finding little book reading nests all over the house. She has three going right now. There is one in her closet, one behind the couch, and this one sprung up after school today.
This fiction picture book is so cute. It won the Quill Award. I have loved these books since I was a little girl and my mom first read me if you give a mouse a cookie. This book is about a pig that asks for a party and it goes through everything she would need for it and by the end of the book she is asking for a party again. This would be a great book for storytelling because of all the different things the pig will need for the party.
Another #booknerdconfession - I can't say no when my kids say, another book please???

I'm channeling my love of reading into community service by helping struggling readers in an elementary classroom and I couldn't be happier. A cute second grader named Jesselle read this one to me today, adding giggles in all the appropriate places. My heart is full!
