At Violin's center: a uniquely fascinating woman, Triana - who once dreamed of becoming a great musician - and the demonic fiddler Stefan, tormented ghost of a Russian aristocrat, who begins to prey upon her, using his magic violin first to enchant, then to dominate and draw her into a state of madness through the music she loves. But Triana understands the power of the music and she sets out to resist Stefan, to fight for her sanity and her life.
🖤What a beautiful cover🖤😍

- I‘ve read the reviews but its not going to stop me from trying it lol 😅 Rices long winded prose doesn‘t bother me much and this sounds great
Okay I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I‘ve only been reading this for 2 ish hours but I know I‘m not going to get through this. Chapter 3 was just a whole bunch of symbolism and metaphors about snuggling with dead loved ones which could be seen as sweet if the main character wasn‘t legit snuggling a corpse in the first couple chapters. It‘s not even that it‘s weird it‘s just the writing. It‘s just symbolism about symbolism about metaphors. Not for me.
Here‘s my #DoubleSpin — I‘ve heard a lot of negative things about this one so hopefully for my first Anne Rice it‘s not too bad 🤞🏼 either way I‘ll be excited to finally knock this one off my shelf
UPDATE: definitely abandoned this one. It was interesting for the first ten pages, but I quickly lost interest. Definitely different from the other Anne Rice novels.
Starting another book for Spooktober!
It's been a hot minute since I've read any Anne Rice (anyone else have a vampire phase in high school?), but I'm excited to read this story, especially because it's a story encapsulated in classical music! Woohoo!
As much as I would typically enjoy anything written by Anne Rice, I think this work was really frustrating and long-winded to read. I kept trying to pick it back up for years, but her damn symbolisms and symbolisms of symbolisms and is he a ghost or a rockstar or a figment of the main character‘s imagination or am I now going insane?!? It wasn‘t to my taste, so I bailed. ☹️
Mystery and music. This story is a beauty if you love to explore the supernatural and mysteries of life. #musical #mysteries #litsybookclub #bloggerblast #backtoreading #annerice #horror
I've sorta finalised my TBR #readathon picks. Sophie my 7 year old is getting into it too, with some DrSeuss and Roald Dahl. I've just added an Anne Rice that I've been meaning to read. First I have to start off with Find Her as I've around 40 pages left 📚📚👍🏼📚 snacks in form of coffee and chocolate, Its 1pm in Ireland 👍🏼goodluck and have fun 📚❤️
Which one do I read? I saw a lot of people talking about Anne Rice, but I love Sir Walter Scott's prose and poetry. #thetalisman #violin?
