Did a senior thesis on Cocteau back in undergrad. This is probably tied with Orpheus as my favorite of his.

Haven't we done these questions before? It feels familiar.
1️⃣ Beauty and the Beast (the original French tale)
2️⃣ Carabosse
3️⃣ Peau d'Âne (the 1970 version with Jean Marais)
4️⃣ @Jabberwocky @FantasyChick @dixi_e @BookishTrish

1️⃣ I like the original Hansel and Gretel. People get abandonned and eaten. The works.
2️⃣ Meh?
3️⃣ Beauty and the Beast with Ron Pearlman and Linda Hamilton was great, until the last season. Then it turned bad.
4️⃣ Everyone will say Princess Bride, but Jean Cocteau's La Belle et la Bête (1946) still remains the best ever made, closely followed by Peau d'Âne (1970), both starring Jean Marais, btw!
5️⃣ Carabosse

All bundled up and ready to see the stage production of Beauty and the Beast in the outdoor Elizabethan Theater at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival! It's the last night of the outdoor season and the first show I've seen here in almost a decade--I spent my childhood going to these shows. But this time, my sneaked-in hot chocolate has a little something extra in it... 😏
After seeing the new Beauty and the Beast in theatres three times I thought I'd put my French skills to some use and take a crack at the original. (I'm actually reading the Villeneuve version, which was first, but doesn't appear to be in Litsy's system.) So far it's an enjoyable endeavor! #amreading
It lived up to the hype. I cried basically through the whole thing & was a puddle by the end. Such a sweet memory with my older daughter. (Younger daughter saw it today with a friend.) #BeautyAndTheBeast #beenwaitingsince1991 #iambelle #iamalsohermione #basicallyiamemmawatson
Received my degree yesterday so I celebrated with my parents by going see Beauty & the Beast. It was amazing. Not perfect but wonderful all the same, and frankly, seeing Be Our Guest in 3D is worth anything. Also Luke Evans as Gaston is everything. But am I the only one who was disappointed by the library? 📚✨ #beautyandthebeast
So excited to be seeing this movie today.... Most excited about seeing/hearing Emma Thompson and Ewan McGregor in their roles (and of course can't wait to see Belle's library!) 😍📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚
