The first half of my #HalloweenHolds came in and I'm pumped!! Looking forward to some classic scares and we have more than enough books for the TinyDemon to get into the HalloweenSpirit 👻

6.2.22 Lea Sutter barely survives a hurricane on a tiny island, she's drawn to and brings home two orphaned boys. They seem intensely greatful at first, but no one expects the twins' true evil.
Loved it. I had definitely read it before so I'm sure the first read was even better. Had inklings about somethings but couldn't remember the twists. Funny picturing my fave childhood author writing sex scenes, we're all grown up I guess #notthe90s 🤣😅5/5

This was very meh. I was intrigued to see what R. L. Stine did with writing for adults. I think it still felt kind of juvenile. I was never actually scared. The descriptions of the horror post hurricane and the murders mentioned in the synopsis were nice and squicky, but otherwise nothing felt adult. It was interesting enough that I finished to see how it all wrapped up. I would suggest this if you want to dabble in horror, but otherwise, skip it.

parasolofdoom Yes! If I remember correctly all the chapters were song titles. It was a really good YA... I dunno urban fantasy/magical realism crossbreed. Kate Karyus Queen, I've liked all three of her novels. 6y

CatLass007 My dad used to take me shopping because my mom hated it and he loved it. But he never gave me free run of any bookstore. He always seemed to think books were “junk.” 6y

Feeling nostalgic. I haven't read R.L. Stine since I was a kid. 😊

melrailey I just started doing this recently. Duh my old ones out and began reading. Got to one that is TO HE CONTINUED! And now I don't have the 2nd book. I'm now scouring used bookstores trying to find it. 7y

Where do I start? This book is awesome! Totally different from the Goosebumps series. My tip is to keep this book away from kids, as warned on the cover. The sense of humor and demented things that happened was totally great to read. I felt like I was actually there in the setting. I finished this in two days as well. I loved the characters and the ending.

The Goosebumps lover in me wanted to love this book! I was entertained but this was highly unlikely chain of events that I can constantly poke holes into. But if you can get past that and try to enjoy it as implausible entertainment then you will be fine.

I was about 100 pages in and read the end. Very predictable. I've read scarier goosebumps books as an adult.
