A General Theory of Oblivion | Jos Eduardo Agualusa
post image

"General Theory" is a book I ordered months ago for #Angola ?? in #ReadingAfrica2022, so it's a bit late for that, but still sounds interesting so I will read it.
I ordered volume 3 of the Dune: House Atreides graphic novel as the first two were engaging enough for me to want to complete the series.
Divided States of Hysteria is a random pick, which could be excellent or terrible - I'll have to see ?

Bookwomble This grey, rainy day needed a whipped cream mocha to make it feel more cosy ☕📚 #BooksAndCoffee 5d
dabbe Oh, you showed books here? I was drooling over your 🧋! 🤣🤣🤣 5d
Bookwomble @dabbe If I tell you it has a slug of Kahlua in it, would that make it better or worse? 😁 5d

BarbaraBB I read it for #ReadingAfrica2022 too but I don‘t remember much 🤦🏻‍♀️ 5d
Bookwomble @BarbaraBB I read your review: you liked it, but you thought there were too many side characters and wished the author has focussed more on his MC 😊 5d
dabbe @Bookwomble Add some Baileys, too, and I'm all for it! ❣️🤣❣️ 4d
BarbaraBB thank you😀, was I right? I still don‘t have a clue though. I read it one night in the hospital where my father was dying. I think I wasn‘t that focused 🤦🏻‍♀️ 4d
Bookwomble @BarbaraBB Sorry to hear of your loss, Barbara ❤️ That would surely be enough of a distraction. My dad died last year, too, and my use of books as a coping mechanism meant I read more in '22 than ever before. 4d
Bookwomble @dabbe Ha! My mum got Mrs B hooked on coffee and Bailey's for a while 😄 4d
BarbaraBB I can relate to that. It is my coping mechanism too - except for those few weeks in the hospital. I remember your dad passing away too in ‘22. It‘s hard. ❤️ 4d
dabbe @Bookwomble 🤣🤣🤣 4d

Went to the library with the little guy this evening and picked out some books. He was able to get a couple of books on prehistoric ice age animals (he was been bugging us to learn more about them), his favourite - a Komodo Dragon and an animal battle book.

I was able to pick up a book for #naturalitsy and #AutherAMonth . I'm excited to dig into these books!

My #libraryhaul for the New Year. I‘ve read the first few pages of the tagged book, Cranford, and The Secrets We Kept, and those are the ones I‘m leaning toward. But I‘m also feeling in a #chunkster mood, so maybe Bleak House?

Decisions, decisions…

Happy New Year all!!! 🎉🎊🥳

batsy Great haul! 😍 Happy New Year to you 🎉🥂 1mo
AlaMich @batsy Happy New Year! 1mo
Centique Bleak House is my favourite Dickens. I hope you like it! I‘ve just started the audio of Middlemarch as my chunkster for the New Year - so far it‘s really good. Happy new year! 2w

Chelsea.Poole @TheKidUpstairs I can‘t wait to start Eels! I know I‘ll be fascinated as well 😊 1mo

Was so excited when I seen my library had the Tom Felton book in its new section so I just had to get it. I love Harry Potter so it was a must for me. I was reading another book I had here at home but I think I will read this one first lol. #libraryhaul

😅 now just need to find the time to read all of these!! 😅

LoverOfLearning I have been talking about The Murmur of Bees for yearss. One of my all time favorite books (the beginning is slow but so worth it). I am so glad it's getting the recognition it deserves. 2mo

Braved the snowstorm to walk to the library this morning. Almost finished with the new season of The Crown so look forward to trying tagged. I‘ve been waiting ages for Saga Volume 10 (or so it seems). Hope I remember where we left off in the story. The cookbook looks promising—butternut squash, corn and bread bake with cheese and chives is calling to me. And I can‘t wait to discover some great short books!

LeahBergen I have that Queen Mum book on my TBR. The short books one looks intriguing! 2mo
Aimeesue Saga #10!! Whoop! Seems like forever since I read the last one. 2mo
