We had a lovely day in Florence but now we are trapped at the train station due to delays. My feet are killing me but at least I have my books ❤️

After I finish my two Labor Day weekend reads my September TBR pile is dedicated to books set in Italy. I‘ll be traveling to Rome at the end of the month 😊
Finished on my drive into work today....thank goodness! I was not a fan of this book. I didn‘t connect with the characters, I didn‘t like the story lines, I got bored...I can rarely leave a book unfinished, so I always power through, but I thought about bailing on this one plenty of times. It has a pretty cover though! I am excited to pick out a new audiobook on my lunch break!
Started a new playaway on my drive to work today! It is a little hard to get into so far and the man that reads has an accent that makes it a little hard to understand. But I chose this one because we are going to Rome next spring as part of our European honeymoon! This cover too 😍
A quick but good read, with engaging relatable characters and story lines but without making you think too much or too seriously. It was a great break from my usual mystery/thriller selections.
I admit I just chose this book when I was browsing at the library, because I liked the cover! 😱 I was very pleasantly surprised by this and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is great to read when you're looking for something escapist. Would make a great beach read. I really want to visit Rome now. I guess I'll just have to settle for watching Roman Holiday again for the 100th time! 4.5⭐️ Recommended! #beachread #escapism #romance
#TBRtemptation post 6! 3 couples are drawn to Rome. NYC art student Alice comes looking for adventure before settling down with her fiancé. LA businesspeople Meg & Alec are looking for a special tile for their home renovation, but may need a marriage reno as well. Sisters-in-law Connie & Lizzie come to scatter the ashes of their husband & brother, declaring an end to romance that may not be so final after all. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?
Last night, we decided to go on a mid-week date, there's a little café right around the corner that stays open late. So we headed down for a tea latte, a game of chess and the chance to read for an hour or so. I recently finished, One Summer Day in Rome, and just loved it. It's one of those books that make you long for the sun, and an excuse to hop on a plane.

This was such a treat to read! One Summer Day, follows three couples who are irresistibly drawn to Rome, narrated by the city itself, you'll be longing to make a trip to the Eternal City, yourself! For comparison, I'd say it's a mix of Love Actually, Roman Holiday and Only You.
I'm hosting a giveaway for this book over on IG, enter here:

This was a fun, madcap adventure, which follows two couples and a pair of old ladies. "Three couples... standing at the beginning, middle, and end of their loves." The characters are flawed and I think that's what makes them so enjoyable to read. They frustrated me, but they compelled me to read on and see the end of their story. I just wish the end had been better resolved. 4 ⭐️
