i enjoyed listening to this audible on my drive to and from work. Julia Child was something else. Besides her love for cooking she was into politics, opinions on sexuality. She founded scholarships. i use to like watching her when i as a lot younger and would laugh while she cooked. She was entertaining.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, and as I do any time I read a book about food, I bought some new kitchen utensils, pulled out cookbooks I haven't used in awhile, and planned some meals. Looking forward to cooking some of Julia's meals soon! Thanks again for sending this book to me @Mitch!

CoffeeNBooks @hermyknee I like their single-origin roasts, also, but I didn't care for the Sumatra. I only tried it once and then shoved it to the back of the coffee cabinet, so I'll have to give it another try soon. I love the Colombian roast. 5y

hermyknee So far I‘ve had the Guatemala roast (OMG YUM... loved it so much I sent a full sized bag to @That-Bookish-Hiker ) and the Costa Rica (YUUUMMM) and the Colombian (ALSO SO MUCH YUM)! I haven‘t tried Kenya or Sumatra yet. ♥️ To buy another sampler pack or not to buy... 😳 5y

Soubhiville Julia Child is so nostalgic for me! My Grammy loved to watch her on public television, and often did a silly voice impersonating her while she was cooking. 💕 5y

Listening to this story and how impactful she was in trying to teach Americans to value a cooked meal as well as pushing more women to be chefs was exactly what I needed. It was definitely a surprise to hear the chapter on her homophonic views and how they influenced her relationships with well known gay chefs in America. Being someone who loves a good book on food and the culture surrounding it, I highly suggest taking a listen (or read).
