This is only the second of Ms. Macomber's books I've read, the first being THE FORGETFUL BRIDE, an older Harlequin, which I think I liked better than this one. This one was ok, I didn't love it, I didn't hate it, and I did very much like Jack, with his former alley cat named Dog.

Cats just love to bring ya not necessarily wanted gifts and just plop 'em at your feet; mice, birds, sexy neighbors . . .

I have never read anything from Debbie Macomber before this. This novella was exactly what I needed. Lighthearted and funny and a feel good ending. It is obviously a bit dated in some ways (the story was originally published in 1994), but it was over all a delight.

It was a delightful little read for a couple days of my commute. I enjoy her stories because they remind me of my own family members.
Lacey's journey out of grief and mourning made me cry a little. Sarah's awakening tested my patience. Jack's tenderness made me smile.
If you want a quick- fix to a happy ending, this is for you.

Reading is definitely a #familyaffair for me. We always loved to read, and that has been amplified by both Litsy and BOTM ❤️

Went on one of our bookstore dates with the hubs yesterday, and while I was helping him shop for his secret santa match, I had to pick up these for myself. One because it was in the bargain section, and the other because I had a coupon and an addiction to leather-bound fairy tale books.
