I adored this picture book. It has beautiful messages about community, sharing, and gratitude. It‘s the picture book selection for Charlotte Mecklenburg Library‘s 2024 Community Reads program.

rockpools Hi Rachel. This may (or may not) be a silly question ( sorry!) but am I friends with you on DuoLingo? 🇮🇹 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿? I know it‘s a Litsy Rachel but have come back to it after ages and have the memory of a 🐌 1mo
DGRachel @rockpools I honestly don‘t know. I quit using Duolingo earlier this year or the end of last year. I may go back to it eventually, but I don‘t even have the app on my phone anymore. 1mo
rockpools @DGRachel Thanks for answering weird random questions. It‘s someone who‘s super-active on there at the moment that I‘m trying to track down, so probably not you! Sorry for going hugely off-topic in your feed! 1mo
DGRachel @rockpools No need to apologize. I don‘t mind at all. I hope you find the person you are seeking. 1mo

Mehso-so

3.75⭐️ There were aspects of the story that I really liked, but was ho-hum about others. It felt liked it dragged in places, but overall I thought it was a really good book. It was one that I don‘t know if I will read again, but am glad that I did read. #2024 #fiction #bookclub #booksintranslation #contemporary

#weekendreads

I hope to complete Prequel and work a bit more on The Alice Network this weekend. I just started the tagged book and am enjoying it.

There were about three thousand active satellites up in the sky, he'd read. Some twenty-thousand pieces of orbital debris. At any given moment, an average of nine thousand passenger planes flying.

And yet, he'd thought as he walked, without the last of the dinosaurs the sky would be empty.

Pickpick

It‘s a fun suburban romp through the secret lives of an east coast neighborhood. Suspicion, breaking and entering, paranoia, sex, burner phones, a techy teen, and coffee…these broads drink a shit ton of coffee in this book! They are caffeinated and activated! Read this book in a day, it‘s fast and a solid who-done-it thriller. Bon appetit!
