This book was odd and I‘m not sure if I liked it or didn‘t. It started slow then I was really intrigued. Next I‘d be upset the way it moved. I was so mad at Poppy‘s dad, parts with Embers family felt too brief. The ending drove me crazy. I also want to kind of read the next one just to see what happens. I don‘t think it‘s a must read but it‘s not the worst.

How is is May?! I‘ve had such a busy week but I got an hour to read outside. It was a breezy warm day. Not sure how I feel about this book yet. Going to try and make May about reading everyday. Doesn‘t have to be a lot but just some! #MAYbereading21

This book sounded so interesting I picked it up on a whim. I hope it‘s as good as it sounded! I also love the cover.
I‘m trying to reacquaint myself with my TBR while on a book buying ban for the month.

Wow! This was a mesmerizing and magical twisty witchy tale that had a unique voice and a well structured plot. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have sort of mixed feelings about this book. I liked the gritty world and the magic. The characters were also fairly enjoyable, especially Poppy.

But I really wish that the love interest hadn‘t been developed so quickly and that the relationship between the two girls had just been a little more fleshed out. I also felt like the love triangle was a bit odd.

I really like the first half, but the second half became very predictable and less interesting. While it is a pretty unique story, and very well written, I found the 2 most interesting characters weren't explored enough.

A quick read filled with witchcraft, love, friendship, and betrayal. Wasn't too bad but definitely not my favorite. If you're looking for a filler book in between a series, etc. then this would fit that bill.
