This was an amazing and beautiful heartfelt story about one man's adventure to the stars. Not only.does the author go to space, he goes twice to the International Space Station. While also helping students learn about and get excited for a career in space. Excellent story!

Another read about an astronaut. Really enjoyed this one.

Fun #ScienceSeptember prompt for #integrateyourshelf this week! I don't read a ton of science books but I enjoy them when I do. This is one on my TBR that I plan to pick up soon. And this cover just makes me super happy whenever I see it!

Catching up on yesterday‘s #BiblioMaynia Chasing Space is the memoir of an astronaut so it is partly #SetInSpace He‘s known for having his dogs in his NASA portraits. I met him at a local book stand he was great.

I wish this had been better organized. His story is certainly interesting, but the book feels really scattered. Some sections went on much too long and there are other sections I'd love to have heard more about. Listened on audio, here's a shot from a walk.

It was short. This book had a lovely narrator and I quite enjoyed learning about him. #readharderchallenge2019 a book by an aoc set in or about space

#unpopularopinion Leland Melvin has an amazing life. HE WENT TO SPACE!! But wow this book was not amazing. It was all over the place, I am left with more questions than answers and way more information on less interesting parts of his life than I needed. It‘s a quick read so give it a go yourself.

I don't think I'll ever go to #space but I enjoy reading nonfiction about the people who have gone or who played a role in the US space race. It was fun to meet the author of the tagged book at my local book store this spring.

I‘m cheating for #GiveawayArtemis, because the only novel in space I can remember is The Martian and that‘s too obvious! (I did really like it, though!)

How can you not want to know more about the man who puts his dogs in his official NASA photo and on his book cover?

Leland Melvin has had such an interesting life. From playing football in the NFL and getting cut, to training at NASA and enduring an unfortunate accident that made him temporarily deaf, and eventually recovering to go on critical missions to the International Space Station. This man does. not. quit. He is truly an inspiration.

I'm currently in a long distance relationship, and today I found a box of books on my doorstep from my boyfriend! No special occasion, just because! He has definitely figured out the 🔑 to my heart! The chasing space has a forward by Katherine Johnson (from Hidden Figures)!
