pickThis is beautifully designed as you would expect from Coralie Bickford-Smith. The front endpapers are cute little earthworm designs and the back are the black bird. The illustrations flip between the earthworm wanting space and putting things off, and the bird waiting above. Just Lovely.

#TBRtemptation: Two extraordinarily illustrated books I came across yesterday. So stunning!
so-soI found it difficult to rate this book as a So-So. It could not be more beautifully illustrated. Even the endpapers are a work of art.
But there wasn‘t much of a story. Or maybe I just didn‘t get it.
Nonetheless, this book is an absolute feast for the eyes.

pickSo excited to finally see Coralie Bickford-Smith's new book! While The Fox and The Star will always be special and entrancing, this one is still great. The story doesn't grab me as much as her first book did - it's a little less detailed. Her first book was very evocative, and this one is so-so. But the images are still wonderful!!
pickLast nights bedtime story was an autumnal delight. Beware some mild peril and an occasional sense of dread. Mainly be prepared to be stunned by its beauty.
