@ozma.of.oz 1. Yes! 2. I love the Big Gay Fiction Podcast! 3. I‘d love a podcast related to queer YA books! I think there‘s plenty of books to choose from these days. #sundayfunday

BookmarkTavern Oh I‘d subscribe to a queer YA podcast so fast! Thank you for sharing! 2y

Do y‘all listen to this podcast? I love it so much! 🤩🏆

Bookboss One of my favorites! 2y
Nebklvr Love it!!! Also sense of place is fabulous if atmosphere is important part of your favorite reads. Book Cougars and What should I read next are also favorites. 2y
EvieBee Thank you for putting this in my radar! Just subscribed. Always looking for a new bookish podcast. 2y
Kloves2read What would I type to search this podcast? Thank you! 2y
Erinreadsthebooks @kloves2read I searched “Diving In” on both Apple podcasts and Spotify and was able to find it. My only problem finding certain podcasts occurs when I‘m not on the all podcasts tab but stuck in my library or saved ones 😅 (edited) 2y

#Podcast #NFN20 I found this awesome podcast on audible made by an Aussie journalist about the serial thefts of truckloads of nuts from Californian farms. There‘s been heists of millions of dollars worth of almonds, walnuts & other nuts.Using fake loading certificates they con legit truck drivers into picking up the nuts then they divert them to the wrong location before vanishing leaving both the drivers & farmers holding the bag.Highly recommend

Sitting outside catching up on podcasts while I crochet and get buzzed by hummingbirds.

I‘m not a library worker, but I really love the Circulating Ideas podcast about libraries and librarianship. It‘s so interesting!

JaclynW Thanks for sharing! So needed. 4y
Prairiegirl_reading I was just looking at this! I love the librarian is in. I can‘t stand overdue though- if the idea is to convince me to read a classic then why spoil it! Once you listen to the episode you don‘t have to read the book because they‘ve told you all about it. I find that annoying. 🤣🤣 anyway it‘s a good list! 4y
Mitch @Prairiegirl_reading I love The Librarian is in too! I‘ve downloaded Bad on Paper going to give that one a try 👍🏼 4y
Mitch @JaclynW happy listening! 4y

I have a TON of household chores to do today, but feeling a bit scattered.... not sure I can focus on an audiobook today!
So I‘m going to catch up on all my favorite podcasts instead..... 😊💕🎧

Abailliekaras Love a bookish podcast! (But I would say that 🤷🏼‍♀️😜). 5y

Lay ‘em on me. I got dogs to walk and not enough to listen to.😄

Extra super bonus points if none of the hosts use vocal fry - I can‘t listen to it. It grates on my nerves, I get distracted and can‘t focus on what they‘re supposed to be talking about, which makes listening pointless.

I love the Vintage Books podcast + BackStory (which is technically history podcast, but almost always involves a book or seven. On Being leads to books as well.

thebluestocking So many! What Should I Read Next?, Literary Disco, and Reading Envy are three of my favorites. 5y
Aimeesue @thebluestocking Thanks! *Runs off to investigate* 5y

BarbaraJean I love the BBC bookish podcasts—World Book Club and Bookclub with James Naughtie. The Greenlight Bookstore podcast is really good as well, also the NY Public Library‘s Library Talks. So many good ones! 5y
Aimeesue @BarbaraJean OMG! Book club archives has interviews with Muriel Spark, Jane Gardam, and Beryl Bainbridge! Can‘t wait to listen to them! Thanks! 5y
Aimeesue @Amiable Thanks! 5y
Ruthiella @thebluestocking Ditto to Reading Envy and Literary Disco! I also like Books and Authors from BBC Radio Four, Bookfight, Tea or Books? and So Many Damn Books. I have an empty spot on my dance card now that it looks as if The Readers is no more... 5y
BarbaraJean @Aimeesue You‘re welcome! The archives have some real gems. I also appreciate that both Bookclub and World Book Club focus more on the authors and readers than on the podcast personalities—that‘s my preference, though! 5y
sprainedbrain I also love Reading Envy... some others I enjoy: Reading Women, Eclectic Readers, and All the Books. 5y
andrew61 Of course the bbc podcasts have been mentioned and are brilliant and include 'good reads'. 'In our time' can be a bit heavy especially when it goes into science but does look at classics and its archive section on itunes breaks down into culture. 5y
andrew61 Also Literary friction is a monthly podcast and very good. If you like crime fiction and two authors laughing a lot 'Two crime writers and a microphone '. 5y
Aimeesue @Ruthiella Thanks! I‘ll give them a listen. Loooooooooove the BBC. I‘m an Anglophile in the way only an American who longs to be British can be! 😄 5y
Aimeesue @BarbaraJean That tends to be my preference as well. Tell me about the BOOKS! 5y
Aimeesue @andrew61 Thanks! I hadn‘t heard of In Our Time, but I‘m a science junkie, so I‘m definitely up for that one! 5y
Aimeesue @sprainedbrain “Eclectic Readers” - totally and completely me! Thanks so much! 5y
thebluestocking @Ruthiella Ooh. There a couple in there I don‘t know about! I‘m bummed about The Readers too. 5y

I spend 4 hours in the car driving to and from work each day and listen to audio books. When I‘m out of audible credits I listen to podcasts. What are your favorites?

Beatlefan129 Overdue! It‘s one of my favorites 6y
ReadingSusan I assume you mean podcasts not audiobooks? Settle in 🤣 Planet Money, 99% Invisible, Modern Love, Lovett or Leave It, Serial, In the Dark, Dirty John, Alone: A Love Story, Breakdown, Buried Truths, By the Book, Code Switch, Criminal, Up First, Deadly Manners, Death, Sex and Money, Ear Hustle, Homecoming, How Did This Get Made, Levar Burton Reads Launch, Keep It, love & Radio, Radio Diaries, Memory Palace, Reply All and Reveal. 6y
Joy0201 I love Lore, but podcasts in general overwhelm me. There are just too many. 6y
See All 12 Comments
Amie I second the recommendation for Overdue! Also: Stuff You Missed in History Class, Dressed, Reading Envy, The Reading Women, and You Must Remember This 6y
BookishBeth @ReadingSusan I just started In the Dark today. I‘m hooked. I listened to Dirty John. Have you listened to Dr Death? It‘s produced by the same people as DJ. So good! Thanks for the others! 6y
BookishBeth @Beatlefan129 and @amie I will check out Overdue! You Must Remember This sounds interesting. 6y
BookNAround Sawbones, A Way with Words, BBC4 Books and Authors, The Readers, Spilled Milk, Every Little Thing, No Such Thing As a Fish, Part Time Genius, Radiolab, Sidedoor, Very Bad Words, Your Last Meal, and many more including some listed about. 6y
jmofo I love 99% Invisible, Welcome to Night Vale, Memory Palace, Radiolab, Stuff You Missed in History Class, Suicide Buddies, The Reading Women, Writing Excuses, Moviesign with the Mads. There are a handful of others I like but don‘t listen to very frequently. I‘ve been looking to start listening to Lore. 6y
ReadingSusan @BookishBeth yes I am listening now. Fascinating! 6y
Smrloomis I really like The Librarian is In and Annotated. 6y
CSeydel I enjoyed “In the Dark” as well. If you like true crime I recommend “Accused: the unsolved murder of Elizabeth Andes”. Highly recommend “S-Town”, amazing story. 5y
SheReadsAndWrites Mike Rowe's podcast is my favorite. 😊 5y

#ReadingResolutions Day 7: I don‘t really listen to #BookishPodcast but @bookriot has created this fantabulous list for those who do: https://bookriot.com/2017/12/01/bookish-podcasts-launched-in-2017/

TheFunkyBookworm Thanks for posting this link! Book riot has a lot of great bookish podcasts! 6y
Billypar Haven't tried most of these but I like The Bookstore Podcast. But I think my all time fav is Book Fight. The Book Riot site is a good one-stop shop for every kind of bookish podcast- a new one for non-fiction started this year that is really good too. 6y
