I have yet to read something by Darcy Coates that I didn‘t like. With that being said, while I enjoyed this one it wasn‘t my favorite. Two kids go stay with their estranged grandparents after their mother is in an accident. Of course things aren‘t as they seem. I would say this one is more of mystery with a pinch of a ghost story.

WhatWouldJaneDo I read Hunted last fall and LOVED it. I want to read more of her books, I think I have this one and Craven Manor on my Kindle. Glad to hear her books are usually worth reading even if this one wasn't tops for you. 5y

Another fun ghost tale. I felt like it could have been a bit longer but it was still a concise and well put together story. I like a drawn out haunting tale.

This was a quick little ghost story, well fleshed out (pun intended) and a little twist I didn't expect! That's always pleasant. On a scale of 1 to 5, this was like a 3.5, which makes it a little more than so-so. Siblings go to stay with their grandparents after an accident leaves their mother in the hospital but all is not what it seems and the ghosts are stirring. Not wholly unenjoyable!!!

This was a pretty good ghost story. It was creepy and atmospheric. The story wasn't particularly original but I enjoyed it very much. My only complaint would be that the ending was a little anticlimactic. I read it in one day which is pretty rare for me these days. It is a perfect read for October!
