1. I don‘t live in my car, so I can tolerate that a lot more than a dirty house!
2. Ma and Pa Kettle, from the tagged book, are my favorite literary slobs!

🍳 I love a good deviled egg!
🐣 Eggs are one of the few dietary sources of vitamin D.
Not too many books with “egg” in the title. If you can think of one, please join in!
Current #litsyatoz #litsyatoz2018 progress. Reading all books made into movies. Halfway through!
Having said goodbye to Mr. Chips, it is now time to say hello to The Egg and I by Betty Macdonald. The film starred Claudette Colbert and Fred Macmurray. Time to get cracking on letter “E” of #litsyatoz2018 books into films! 🍳 🥚 🐓 #litsyatoz
Adding another book to my #currentlyreading pile. I want something that feels like summer and that will transport me. I‘d also like to read the remaining 3 books in her memoir series.

I know this is late, but here goes:
1. Jane Eyre
2. The Egg and I by Betty MacDonald. I read it for a report and discovered one of my all-time favorite books!
3. High school was a long time ago, but I don‘t think I read Fahrenheit 451, which I love!
4. Our school gave us different treats every day, my students gave me notes, and local restaurants gave us free meals all week. Not too shabby!

🙌🏻 I finally got all the eggs (thanks to the LT clues post)!
On the one hand, this memoir of life on a chicken ranch in the wilds of Washington state is hilarious and touching. MacDonald has a keen eye and a dry wit.
On the other hand, there‘s a heavy lump of racism, with a light dusting of let‘s-make-fun-of-the-yokels.
My library copy came complete with a check-out card last used in the sixties.
#12DaysofChristmas #SixGeeseALaying🥚There are no geese that I remember from The Egg and I, but there were eggs-a-plenty so I'm going with Betty MacDonald, the author of this fun & funny classic. Published in 1945 it's about her life moving to the Olympic Peninsula with her marine husband & where they operate a small chicken farm & raise their family. The book & movie are more favorites that my Dad shared with me growing up & they make me smile.❤️
Here are some of my most treasured reads. All of these are books I read in my youth, and some are ones that introduced me to new genres and forever altered my reading landscape. #welllovedreads, #riotgram, #riotgrams
How could I not stop to eat at a book-ish inspired restaurant? Enjoyed a tasty breakfast-for-lunch meal in Issaquah this afternoon.

I loved this movie when I was a kid, so I treated myself to the book.
Betty MacDonald is bright but dark, sweet but cutting... I want to be her friend.
