Annoying weird medical issues are interfering with my reading routine (& pretty much every other aspect of my life) again.😖😠 I woke up the other day with a wrist subluxation. The good news is it was on my non dominant hand, isn‘t dangerous for someone with hypermobility, & did slip back into proper alignment last night, but the residual pain is still keeping me fairly nonfunctional. I‘m thinking I‘ll have to switch to audiobooks for a while😞☹️

julesG Hope you feel better soon. As crazy as it might sound, knitting has helped me avoid wrist subluxation for years now. 6mo
ShyBookOwl That's awful!! But audiobooks can be a great way to pass time while healing! I hope u find some good ones 6mo
kspenmoll I am so, so sorry. I hope your audiobooks give you some distraction from the pain you‘re feeling. 6mo

IndoorDame @julesG that does seem totally counterintuitive, but I will definitely be trying it out once the pain eases up. I really appreciate the advice! 6mo
IndoorDame @dabbe hahaha, as a matter of fact I did find some proper painkillers around the house to get me through the first day or it would‘ve been unbearable, and I have some topical analgesics that are helping nicely now that it‘s not quite as intense. 🤗🤗🤗 6mo
IndoorDame @Megabooks it really is!💜 6mo
IndoorDame @marleed kindle is a good idea! I have one, that I find I don‘t use all that often, but this is the perfect time to make sure it‘s charged and do more of my reading on that 6mo
julesG I know. I was told to stop knitting when I was 18 and had my second subluxation in a year - neither caused by knitting though. Stopped knitting and it got worse. Started knitting again and didn't have problems until I stopped again. So, I think that shows that for me knitting as regular no impact exercise for my wrists does the trick. 6mo

If you need to understand Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, this book can help. Or maybe I can. Our 5 kids and I have been diagnosed since 2014. Tinkle is our physician.
