I am posting a book a day from my book collection that I haven‘t read. I honestly looked at this book and thought when did I buy this?? 🤣 It sounds good though.
I got this idea from @Rehesina Join the fun!

Day 1.
Just joined this site! No idea what I‘m doing but just got this book and looking forward to reading it! Mother of Moosmoo and mother of girlfriend to Theneverendingtbr
It‘s Friday! Time to kick off my shoes and start a new book. I don‘t know anything about this one but it‘s beautiful and I‘m excited.
A big cast, but I really liked the mix of nobles and commoners! A great mix of fun and drama.
Hmm. I've giving this a pick because I did enjoy it, and I want to read the next book, but it wasn't the best but ever. I'm curious to learn more about the demon smoke, but really Catherine's story is more interesting. I know it's all tied together though. Easy to read, maybe could have been shorter? And again, I typically like long books.
1. Me and one of my cats, Simon, for a SelfiesWithSimon thing I do on my personal Instagram.
2. The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green
3. Reading, signing some papers
4. Rug under cat fountain
5. It's time for ----------------,
And we're zany to the max
So just sit back and relax
You'll laugh 'til you collapse
We're the --------------!

Aww, that ending made my eyes water 😥😥😥
I'm excited for the sequel to this! Family drama and betrayal were good. Romances and LGBTQ rep were great! Love the development of the science/magic. There's some solid grey characters but as a whole, I loved how everyone's fate has been interwoven.
I haven't actually heard anything about this one but the cover has me excited
This book was so, so, so good I really did love and enjoy it so much!

I got “The Smoke Thieves” by Sally Green in a subscription box, but it‘s just not my cup of tea. However, I‘m sure someone else would love it. It‘s also a signed copy and comes with a cute little bag to put it in. Please message me if interested. First come, first serve. Don‘t need to do a trade, just want to give this book a home where it would be better appreciated ❤️ #giveaway #yafantasy
Got this in my subscription box. Was hesitant because of it being YA, but then again I‘ve read several YA fantasies and enjoyed them. A few chapters in, and I couldn‘t handle the dialogue not fitting the setting, and the writing was clearly geared towards 14-year-olds. Yet, even while written for young readers, it was littered with swear words that seemed to serve no purpose other than being “edgy” for young readers. #bailed
My May Scribbler box arrived today! It‘s a subscription box for writers, but always includes a book and advice from the author 😍 Not too sure about the book, since I‘m not a huge YA fan, however, it seems devoid of many YA tropes, well written, & of the Fantasy genre, so I‘ll give it a go. #subscriptionbox #writersoflitsy
⭐️⭐️ The characters were archetypes, the world-building was beyond unoriginal, and in many ways this story was less than average. I found it very hard to care about anything that happened or the plot around the demon smoke and I don‘t even think the title is fitting for this book. I blame this book directly for my recent reading slump.
Speaking of smoke, my apartment building caught fire today! Everyone is fine but frantically packing my gecko and cat after smelling smoke and hearing the alarm was really draining and now I‘m at a bar trying to relax. Thankfully my apartment didn‘t get hit but the ones next to me did.
Finished Scorpio Races yesterday, and am starting on The Smoke Thieves now. So far, I think I may use this as my staff pick next month!
Some thoughts so far—500 pages for 5 main viewpoint characters, meaning each character will only get about 100 pages of personal development? That doesn‘t seem like enough. Also, there‘s a TON of swearing and game of thrones-esque violence but it‘s at the reading level of a young adult novel which is jarring...
Feels like it‘s been a while since I‘ve read any YA but I got this shiny new thing on hold at the library today!
Oh man...Green‘s writing is fantastic. The plot moves quickly, told from 5 POVs which Green juggles well—everyone has a different voice & if some of the plotting is predictable, the book is still fun. So, it‘s good, perhaps even very good, but I wanted it to be great. You get hints of that greatness & the stakes are high (the end 😮) but the book almost reads as a prologue to the main event. I‘ll be reading Book 2 (main event?!?) when it‘s out.
Right into the thick of things just as you might expect from a Sally Green book. Love it!
Book Mail Part II—I‘m super excited about this one. If you haven‘t read Green‘s Half Bad Trilogy, I highly recommend it. There are so many reasons to love it from the first book & its exploration of what “good” & “bad” people are willing to do when they believe they are right, to the end of the third book which...I won‘t spoil it but it‘s a fantastic read. This is the start of a new series and I‘m looking forward to another great story.❤️📚📦
I so wanted to love this book. I really really did. I adore fantasy and this sounded amazing but it just fell a bit flat for me. This is the second book by Sally Green I haven‘t liked. For this one there was just too many pov‘s for my liking. It felt stretched thin and I felt like I couldn‘t connect with the characters. Due to this I got bored so I have to around the 70 page mark.
I just posted my review for #SmokeThieves by Sally Green 😍 It‘s a medieval fantasy that hits all the right spots: compelling characters, action-packed story, brilliant writing, different kingdoms - I didn't want it to end. 'The Smoke Thieves' has it all! You must add it to your TBR!!!

Another one that I will skip and pass along to my neighborhood LFL.
I accidentally (on purpose?) forgot to post my #MarchTBR at the start of the month, maybe because I‘m still getting through some things I meant to get through in February...which was a too-short month with a week away 🙀 Luckily March is long.
I‘m trying to be chill about this stack but umm...yeah. Luckily I‘m almost done with the longest on the list!
