Went to lunch and came back home with a puppy. IKR! He is a lab mix about 8 weeks old. . Need your help with a name. Was thinking Jaxson. Not sure though. Help! Got only good literary names. He will be a big guy and spoiled.

My #dogoflitsy repurposed my son's sofa-fort this morning. Not a rez dog. Bruchac is such a great author, a national treasure. 🇺🇸 He brings up history in this book that I didn't learn until I was in college, but that needs to be aired and never repeated. You will go away wanting to read Thoreau. Nothing bad happens to the dog, so no trigger warnings.

ElizaMarie @Christyco125 It must be. JuJuB is super attached to me, always next to me. Usually, when I am in my office, he will just sit under the desk in the bed, but today, he wanted to be on top of me today and wouldn't be quiet! Of course I wouldn't trade my little selfish stubborn boy for anything! 3y

Megabooks @EKonrad I had a puppy that small once upon a time, and my top three recommendations (as a vet, too) are socialize to other dogs and people after she‘s had enough vaccines (even if it means doggie daycare, which bandit loved!!), get her used to grooming (regular nail trims and baths, make them fun with treats), and (this was hard when bandit was 1.4 lbs but I‘m so glad I did it) short walks in ALL weather, rain included. 5y

Megabooks The window is wide, up to about a 9 months to a year for best, so unless this is super long or she‘s much older than she looks, you should be fine! When your area reopens doggie daycares, I‘d recommend going to a place you trust(!) for that. Make sure they separate large and small dogs and wait until she‘s had a few rounds of vaccines. That was so great for Bandit! He topped out at 7 lbs but ended up with the large dogs sometimes ⬇️ 5y

Megabooks Because he was so feisty. I trusted the kennel techs to decide based on who was there because I worked on the vet side of the business at the time. 😁😁 5y

Megabooks The reason I mention DD is that it accomplishes people and dog socialization at the same time. Of course, once your area reopens, dog parks work well too. I‘ve never had a dog, personality-wise, I trust off leash, so I‘ve only ever gone to fenced parks. I hope you can have friends over soon, too. I hope we all can for sanity‘s sake!!! 5y
