The Sealed Letter | 
We‘ll be discussing this book tonight at book club. I started it at the beginning of Sept and just finished it last night. Tiny font, many pages and I kept falling asleep. It would have been a DNF for me if it wasn‘t a book club book. Fido runs into her old friend Helen on the street after a 7 year “estrangement “ and gets tangled up in Helen‘s marital problems. 🥱
so-soNot spectacular, but was nonetheless entertaining enough to keep my attention. Everyone is at fault in this sordid story, except for the children. But that is too often the messy reality of relationships.
Feeling thankful for reform laws and women‘s rights.
Starting the tagged novel, which is supposed to be a juicy Victorian London gossip. I really have enjoyed Donaghue‘s other writing so I‘m hoping it‘s equally entertaining.
It is a far cry from my environs, which is one of my happy places in western Nebraska. My campsite reading view. 😊 Picture perfect weather; really it‘s hard to remember a more ideal day.
Cruise is almost over, but I‘m making the best of it!

pickJuicy! Not at all like Room (which I loved) but the fact that Emma Donoghue can write so well in different genres shows how brilliant an author she is.

When they mentioned the children played with a "Stereoscope", I had to google it! I remember playing with this toy as a child and the amazing memories that flooded my thoughts made me smile. ?

pickI am a huge fan of historian fiction and Emma Donoghue never fails to disappoint me in this area. I enjoyed this book tremendously! It centres around a scandalous Victorian divorce, which was mostly unheard of back then. Very absorbing and by all means, try it on for size! 😁
Book 2 of 3 from my Boxing Week order 🙌🏻 I'm a bit confused about the way Book Depository ships though...The three books apparently went out the same day and they're all arriving separately at one week intervals lol. Not that I'm complaining about getting more #bookmail 😏

pickFirst time reading this author. Really enjoyed it. It's a story of friendship, love and betrayal. We see how friendship can bind u to and blind you to a person's character. I read it over 2 days.
