The More of Less
The More of Less: Finding the Life You Want Under Everything You Own | Joshua Becker
Dont Settle for More Most of us know we own too much stuff. We feel the weight and burden of our clutter, and we tire of cleaning and managing and organizing. While excess consumption leads to bigger houses, faster cars, fancier technology, and cluttered homes, it never brings happiness. Rather, it results in a desire for more. It redirects our greatest passions to things that can never fulfill. And it distracts us from the very life we wish we were living. Live a better life with less. In The More of Less, Joshua Becker, helps you. recognize the life-giving benefits of owning less realize how all the stuff you own is keeping you from pursuing your dreams craft a personal, practical approach to decluttering your home and life experience the joys of generosity learn why the best part of minimalism isnt a clean house, its a full life The beauty of minimalism isnt in what it takes away. Its in what it gives. Make Room in Your Life for What You Really Want Maybe you dont need to own all this stuff. After a casual conversation with his neighbor on Memorial Day 2008, Joshua Becker realized he needed a change. He was spending far too much time organizing possessions, cleaning up messes, and looking for more to buy. So Joshua and his wife decided to remove the nonessential possessions from their home and life. Eventually, they sold, donated, or discarded over 60 percent of what they owned. In exchange, they found a life of more freedom, more contentment, more generosity, and more opportunity to pursue the things that mattered most. The More of Less delivers an empowering plan for living more by owning less. With practical suggestions and encouragement to personalize your own minimalist style, Joshua Becker shows you why minimizing possessions is the best way to maximize life. Are you ready for less cleaning, less anxiety, and less stress in your life? Simplicity isnt as complicated as you think. From the Hardcover edition.

Looking for audiobook recommendations! I‘ve been enjoying nonfiction books lately, including the tagged book, Sorry I‘m Late, I Didn‘t Want to Come, and God Bless This Mess. I want to find more home improvement, health/wellness, and funny or relatable memoirs/self-help books. Bonus if it‘s read by a great narrator or the author! #audiobook #audiobooks #audio #carreads

sblbooks It's definitely not funny, but it's a must-read. 2y

For a long time, I've been stress over tons of useless things in my house and life. After reading this book I've changed my consumption to a minimum and guess what - life is beautiful now.
Less equals more.
I've donated almost all unneeded things to those who needed them more, changes my consumer behavior and transferred my energy to professional development, family, and meaningful connections. ❤️

Yet another haul from the shopping centre book swap. Lots of books for my step daughters in this one. Someone donates old ARCs and I love them for it. I use any excuse to visit this place nowadays. The gorgeous scarf underneath was left behind by someone on the tram and I couldn‘t leave it unloved especially when it was rolled so beautifully.

Tamra Oh, that is pretty! 3y

I loved this. I've cleaned out 3 rooms of my house already. It's fantastic. I'm sold on minimalism. 😊 (not books though. Not giving up those. 😬🤭🤓)
This was my choice for M in #LitsyAtoZ2019

This is a great book on minimizing. A lot of great points, I‘m listening to the audio book in the car and then going home and trying do organize and minimize. It‘s working but I‘m very slow at it.

I am going to try to do the #allthebooksof2017 challenge, too. This was my #firstreadoftheyear. It was pretty meh. Mostly common sense, and very, very heavy-handed Christianity references, which is so not for me. It wasn‘t terrible, but I didn‘t learn much.

I‘m pretty sure this makes me a bad person, but I didn‘t care for his minimalism origin story. He had too much crap in his garage, his neighbor said he didn‘t have to, epiphany, now he‘s writing a book. I love rock bottom origin stories. The ones that have to sell everything because of a series of unfortunate events. Or how a young person decided not to follow their peers OR PARENTS down the path of debt and self-destruction. That life is EARNED.

I loved this book and I made my husband read it. His Christian beliefs align with my own, but I think anyone with a "stuff" problem would get something out of this book.

I took 2 books off my "currently reading" shelf on Goodreads because I started them two or more years ago and will need to start over. So it's these 4 I'm ending the year on. The more of less, indeed; I'm struggling to complete my first Austen novel.

Halfway in and I'm thinking this is pretty common sense advice. Still, hoping it gets me in a decluttering headspace.

Forgot when I downloaded the audiobook the other day that it was one of my #LitsyAtoZ picks. I'll choose another M book soon!

the.bookish.valkyrie Lol, I did this with my pick for B! Luckily one of my favorite authors is coming out with a new book in 2017 that starts with a B! 7y
dariazeoli @Valkyrie923 We're fortunate that there are always new books to list! 👍🏻 7y

Downloading this audiobook on minimalism while QVC plays in the background. Conflict! 😂

Well this is ok if the thought of decluttering is new to you but ... It's common sense. Not really worth the purchase
