I‘m going to be sad to leave today. It was wonderful to be in a place with limited Internet and limited people. The perfect pandemic getaway. Unfortunately, it‘s back to the real world today....

Extraordinary first novel. Innovative, charming, touching and wholly engrossing. Highly recommended. Childhood will never be quite the same again.
Loving this. Inspired, weird, clever as hell. And the author is coming to talk at my bookshop on September 11!
Reed weaves vignettes together for an imaginative narrative told in a unique way. I finished it in two sittings, and highly recommend it. @Tin_House
A Key to Treehouse Living is a magical, often humorous, insightful and beautiful book. I loved the play on reference text & that it didn‘t impede movement through narrative. Something that could have been gimmicky instead felt genuine, full of heart & curiosity. It took a couple tries for me to get into it & there are some aspects which gave me pause to fully endorsing it, but at the end I‘m left with fuzzy feelings & a desire to share this story.
The imagery is so damn fine! And the viewpoint of the 13-year old chronicling his world is charming.
Thank you to Book Riot for the ARC.
Afternoon reading. 🔑 🌳 🏠
It‘s official: I‘m giving up on ARCs. I do know the incredible difficulty and vulnerability that comes with writing, but if a book sucks, I‘m just not going to finish it!
With advance copies, though, I feel all prickly with guilt. The books stare at me from the mantel, the table, the desk as they migrate around my house while I avoid them.
Would I read these as manuscripts to edit them? Heck yes! Will I read them for leisure? No, thanks.

Tiny Book Tuesday! I got this for free and absolutely loved it! It was written with alphabetic words about a boy living in the outside world. Very poignant and great writing. 5 stars
Next up in backyard reading. Thanks to @Tin_House for the ARC!
I am in the utter hell-depths of finals stuff right now, but I received my copy of A Key to Treehouse Living and I‘m dying to check it out! It‘ll be a good post-semester treat! My carrot-on-a-stick.
Thank you @Tin_House ! ✨
Got a free book in the mail today. Its about a boy's adventure in the Midwest. Looking forward tp reading it next week
