Some of us from one of the book clubs I run here decided to get together for a singles Valentines Eve dinner 🙂. We had a wonderful time and laughed a ton! If you want to make friends, book clubs certainly can help! Have you made friends through them?! (One of my NYC book clubs facilitated two couples that met and eventually got married! 😁👏🏻)

Elizabeth2 I‘ve “kept” friends through a book club. When my brother and sis-in-law divorced, the girls in our friend group (including my sis-in-law) decided we didn‘t want to break up, too. So the four of us formed a book club on a whim, before book clubs were really a thing. That was 24 years ago. We‘ve had 6 kids, one wedding, a couple of miscarriages, lost 3 parents, traveled together, read so many books and had countless laughs. They help me breathe. ❤️ 4y

Crazeedi I've never been in a book club. I dont know avid readers close to me. That's why Litsy filled a hole in my life. @Elizabeth2 that is so special, you are blessed 4y

Elizabeth2 @Crazeedi I think Litsy is excellent for filling that void and I‘m so glad that I met you here! I am fortunate that my friends all have a love of reading and we are geographically close to one another. ❤️ Busy lives keep us from being able to get together as often as we‘d like. We probably only read about 4 books a year together. We usually split the book in thirds and try to get together at least once a month. During Covid, we‘ve used zoom. 4y

Susanita I participate in four book clubs, and only one is a group of people I already knew. Another is through the library, which is also good because they have the books on hand! 4y

Crazeedi @Elizabeth2 but still you are doing which is so great. And that you have shared history is so cool. I wish my sister was a reader and we could talk about books. My one daughter is a reader like me, but we mostly read such different genres. My other daughter isnt a big reader. 4y

I am thankful for technology that allowed my book club to meet via zoom for the first time last week. A couple members couldn‘t quite figure it out, but most of us were able to discuss The Great Alone. I‘ve missed these ladies!
