pickThis is a very cute story about a bear that likes to eat eggs. However, one day he has an egg that hatches into a baby goose. He doesn‘t know what to do with it as it becomes attached to him and thinks it‘s his mother. He tries to do everything he can to get rid of him, but has no luck. This is a very cute read and will definitely be something I use in the classroom.

Bruce eggs that he thought were hard boiled end up being real live goslings. Bruce is now mistaken for their mother and must take care of all the goslings.

This is a cute story about a bear who likes to come up with recipes for eggs until one day, the eggs he plans to eat hatch into goslings. The goslings think Bruce is their mother and follow him everywhere. Bruce tries his hardest to get rid of them but their real mother has flown south early for winter.

Brief Summary: Bruce does not want to be around people. Goslings think that Bruce is their mom. They follow him around and Bruce gets very frustrated. The geese go south and Bruce misses them.
A grumpy bear had eggs that ended up being ducklings and he was angry because he thought they were hard-boiled. He ends up loving them and forming a bond with them. This book shows that you can make good out of an unexpected situation. Friendships can always be made.

The geese convince him to raise them and the all end up migrating to the beach together. I would read this story to my class because its a funny story that talks about an unusual type of family. Students will be able to relate to this story as well and talk about how all families are different.
This is a old favorite that my daughter brought up to read last night. The illustrations are simply adorable and it‘s an adoption story! (Albeit a reluctant one at first!) 😆 Plus, Bruce is a gourmand....after this foodie‘s heart.

F. RA. I picked up Mother Bruce at Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago while I was getting my independent reading book. They had it on display at the register so of course I had to buy it. This Ezra Jack Keats Honor book is a fun filled story about a bear who goes through an "identity crisis" when a few ducklings mistake him as their mother.
