Lane Winslow, ex WWII intelligence officer, is swept up in a murder investigation again, this time because of her Russian language skills.
I love the characters of these stories, and the beautiful setting of British Columbia.

I‘m really enjoying this series. This was the second book in the series. I loved the mystery set up and I really love Lane! I love the little town of King‘s cove. It sounds like a great place to live, except people keep dying. I‘m glad I found this series.

#ImpulseRead but on my #TBR

robinb Totally agree with everything you said! Love this series! I need to get to the third one soon. 3y

I ❤️ this series! This is the second adventure for Lane Winslow, a young former British Intelligence agent during WW2 who has “retired” and is living her dream in rural Canada. She seems to have a habit of finding dead bodies, and she uses her expertise to assist (not necessarily asked to 😆) local police. Interesting plot lines, a slow burn romance and a feisty, intelligent protagonist make for a marvelous read. Looking forward to more. 5/5⭐️

Second book in this series and I really enjoyed it. Maybe even more than the first. Everything I love in a fiction novel...a mystery, set just after WWII, Canadian history and well written characters. And her knowledge of the region and its past are evident throughout the book. I will most definitely read #3 very soon.👍

5⭐️ I am racing through this series and loving each book. Former British Intelligence Officer, Lane Winslow, isn‘t getting the quiet life she thought she‘d get in the small wooded community in BC that she retired to. Another murder, Russian spies, and bank embezzlement challenge Lane and Inspector Darling. 🔍 🇷🇺 💰

🌲I want to vacation in rural BC now, near a lake, in a cottage.. minus dead bodies of course.

Another fun entry in the Lane Winslow mystery series! While this one wasn‘t as page turning as book one was, the characters are so enjoyable and I love learning more about them and reading their interactions with each other. Definitely recommended for those who enjoy historical mysteries. I voluntarily reviewed a copy provided by the publisher.
