Perfect light read for this rainy day.

This was a soothing distraction from the cloud of stress and dread that has been following me this week. I love the BSC graphic novels. I prefer Raina Telgemeier‘s illustrations to this artist‘s, though.

This is the 5 book from the collection (the baby-sitters club). My mom bot this book for me and I read this BD in a couple of hours... Thats how much I like it

This series keeps getting better, and since it‘s been ages since I‘ve read BSC books, I love the refreshers in GN form 💕

3⭐️ From the moment I picked up this book something felt off. Turns out book five was not illustrated by Telgemeier. This one I feel covers a much weightier topic, but without the finesse as previous volumes. Dawn has been baby sitting over and over and over again for one family. This storyline is heavy and it brooches an important topic in today's culture, but I feel that the parental child snatching was too glossed over.

The new artist for this series, Gale Galligan, has a similar style to the one she replaced, Raina Telgemeir. The biggest difference I saw was in the characters‘ eyes. I liked this adaptation, but I hope Jessi is introduced as the series progresses. It‘s been years since I read the book, but I didn‘t remember the BSC members being such jerks to Mallory at the beginning, so that was a bit disconcerting. I‘d tell my daughter to stand up for herself.

I found this ARC at #siba17. I'm totally going to buy the finished version next week but couldn't wait to read it. I love these graphic interpretations of one of my favorite series from childhood. This is the first one drawn by Gale Galligan instead of Raina Telgemeier and she was the perfect choice to take over!
