so-so

Following a dark read, I needed over-the-top goofiness and reached for Lauren Weisberger. I found entertainment considering a 2008 contemporary story (3 nearing 30 bff‘s in a sea of Manhattan twenty-somethings) and how the writing might change with today‘s technology. Adriana would surely be a social media influencer if she were 29 in 2021. It‘s barely a so-so but I was anticipating that.

marleed @MoonWitch94 @CaffeineAndCandy @Gissy I seriously own this book for its cover and tried to do it justice for its photo shoot. My shoes have a funny story. I discovered the dress I purchased for my daughter‘s wedding was on the matronly side so thought I‘d compensate with kick-ass shoes. I literally had to YouTube to learn to walk in them and practice for a month! Then it poured the week of the outside wedding and we all wore flip flops. (edited) 4y

marleed @MoonWitch94 Haha - I‘ve worn them on 2 occasions. The first time, I had complete control over where and how fast and how long I walked. The second time at Lake Travis in Austin,TX to a wedding with my son. I had to walk up hill and 2 blocks to our destination. Let‘s just say his great patience with his uncool mom was tested! And yes YouTube was all over my dilemma! 4y

julesG I've seen it, back when I did my MA. What I've read about diamond trade was often worse. But it's not only the trade, mining and cutting of stones are also very exploiting parts of the diamond life cycle. 7y

I thought I would like this book. And I probably would have, if I was still 25 and my world revolves around getting a guy to like me. But I'm not. I'm 6 months from 40 and so found the premise of the book really condescending and boring.the only thing that saved the book was the narrator Lily Rabe.
