Don't Look Back
Don't Look Back | Jennifer L. Armentrout
Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all-popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend. Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it's one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took "mean girl" to a whole new level, and it's clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She's getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she's falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her-even if the old Sam treated him like trash. But Cassie is still missing, and the facts about what happened to her that night isn't just buried deep inside of Sam's memory-someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure Sam stays quiet. All Sam wants is the truth, and if she can unlock her clouded memories of that fateful night, she can finally move on. But what if not remembering is the only thing keeping Sam alive?

I know it‘s early, but I had to try out this cute Christmas cup we found last weekend!

A student borrowed this book from the library & then told me I *have* to read it. So I am. After the distance-learning debacle of last year, I‘ve found it more difficult this year to get students invested in reading, so moments like this are less common than usual. Once I‘m done with it, this copy will go on my classroom shelves for other students to enjoy.

Finished this audiobook yesterday. This is a standalone contemporary YA that centers around a girl named Samantha who is found on the side of the street with no memory of who she is. The more she learns about herself, the more she hates the person she was. While trying to figure out her life, she is trying to figure out who killed her "best friend" the night they both went missing. One lived, one dies. But who is responsible? Could it be Sam?

tracey38 Also, this is a very character driven story. I kinda figured out the killer fairly early on, but wondered how/why. I really loved the main characters. Loved Carson! Loved to hate the old Sam's friends. Audiobook was also a great listen. 4y

#AyUpAugust #OverMyShoulder I got some help from good old google. But having looked more closely this is one I wouldn‘t read as it‘s YA .... I like the cover though

How would you react if you suddenly wake up and don't even remember your name?
This book is about Samantha who is a stranger in her own life. She and her best friend Cassie went missing and no one has a clue as to what happened that night! I didn't like the book much. I was disappointed with the ending. Though it was unexpected but still could have been a lot better.
You can go for it you want some light reading.
PS- You'll love Carson.
3.7/5🌟

Bailedbailed

I'm giving up on this one. I dread listening to more of it. It's not bad, it's just...hm...well, I don't think YA thrillers are my scene. I'm just going to admit it and stop trying to read them. 😕 If you like teenagers with amnesia and questionable relationships and unknown murderers after them, this is the book for you!

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I've read some great YA in the past, but lately I've bailed on a few too. 7y
Sue @readinginthedark @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Like every genre there is some great stuff, and some absolute crap. 7y
readinginthedark @Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Sue There's a lot of YA I really love. But thrillers tend to make me really anxious of what's to come and really frustrated at the characters. Overall, it just becomes a nerve wracking, negative experience. 😕At least I can say I gave it a try. 7y

This book kind of reminded me of Mara Dyer trilogy and CoHo's Never Never but they are very different stories and they're equally astounding in their own ways. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1019599400?book_show_action=false
