I Invited Her In
I Invited Her In | Adele Parks
Imagine the worst thing a friend could ever do. This is worse. When Mel receives an unexpected email from her oldest friend Abi, it brings back memories she thought she had buried forever. Their friendship belonged in the past. To those carefree days at university. But Abi is in trouble and needs Mels help, and she wants a place to stay. Just for a few days, while she sorts things out. Its the least Mel can do. After all, friends look out for each other, dont they? I Invited Her In is a blistering tale of wanting what you cant have, jealousy and revenge from Sunday Times bestseller Adele Parks.

Only a third of the way through this book and pretty sure I've got it all figured out. And if I do, I'm thoroughly disturbed and disgusted... I've got this on sale from Audible and there's still 8 hours left but I'm in chapter 33 and I think there must be a twist I'm missing where this whole thing was a set up for revenge or at least that's what I'm praying for.. that's the only thing I can stomach at this point.

BookLineNSinker So far, this book has me feeling extremely queasy and unsettled... I don't know what going to happen yet but it cannot be good. I guess the author was going hard for the shock factor and that was achieved... I'm not sure if I'm going to continue reading yet... It might be a bail on principle alone. 6mo

The content of this one was a bit ‘Eww‘. Can‘t go into details without spoilers. I can‘t say I liked this book but I still finished it. Ironically, I can‘t remember how this book ended up on my bookshelves. I‘ve questioned everyone who normally shares their books with me and they all deny giving it to me. Maybe it ‘invited‘ itself in 😂

Ok so I almost bailed on the first few chapters, but I‘m glad I stuck it out. It was hard to put down for the last 150 pages or so. Was it predictable? Fairly. Did the characters reactions always make sense? No. But it had good drama and sometimes that‘s all I really need from a book🤷🏻‍♀️

Such a late post! Finished this one over a month ago but I‘ve been swamped.
This novel captures the intricacies of a family, particularly a blended one. I‘m giving it a so-so because I felt it was too predictable, too obvious in its direction for a story that thrives on keeping secrets from the reader.

Just over halfway through this novel and I have to say it‘s been a slow burn. I keep trying to figure out what‘s going on before the characters do! If anyone has been #LiterallyReadingAlong I‘d love to hear any thoughts, theories, or comments!

Please do not post spoilers, save that for the final review post!

The storyline is good with a twisting plot which keeps you constantly guessing but I am not sure how invested I was in the characters... some of the plot was perhaps a little too unbelievable and some of the reactions from characters not very plausible, having said that I did enjoy it! Mel is happily married to Ben, with 2 little girls and a teenage son she is blissfully happy and living in suburbia.

Oh my lanta. Just when you‘ve patted yourself on the back for having it all figured out, this book reaches out and snags you by the throat. Not predictable as I first thought.

I read this so quickly! I wish I would have pushed that lady. Thumbs down for the epilogue but overall a good read.

A great read which took me a bit of time to get in to but in the end I was enthralled. A captivating story which kept me awake a night or two. #NetGalley

Today's lunch & #soupersundays blog post is (vegan) Sour Lentil Soup from an Ottolenghi recipe. Very lemony & good, it hit the spot today. 🍲😋Paired with one of my current reads for a book tour review later this week. I'm about a third of the way through & the jury is still out. Not too much has happened yet.
Link to soup recipe is below.👇🏻

Texreader Yay another one to try! Looks yummy! Hope you are feeling better soon!! 5y

My first Adele Parks‘ Book!!

LOVE the cover.

FULL REVIEW HERE: https://bit.ly/2t31TAM

E-mailing a long-lost friend about getting together seemed like the right thing to do, and Abi knew Mel wouldn‘t resist her plea about needing her.

When Abi arrived, it seemed she had more on her agenda than getting re-connected with Mel.

If you enjoy tension, a conniving main character, and secrets many characters are keeping, this book is for you. 5/5

Can a best friend ruin your life?

Abi definitely ruined Mel‘s life.

Find out what she did in this tense drama.

You won‘t want to put it down.

Thank you Emer Flounders of Harper Collins for this book.

Full Review will be on February 1, 2019.

My first Adele Parks and it was well worth the read. Something sinister is lurking in Melanie's friendship with Abi and just when you think the reasons Abi has reunited with her friend can't get any more twisted, Adele twists the plot even further. A spellbinding read thar kept me turning pages beyond my bedtime! Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC #adeleparks #harpercollins #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #litsy #iinvitedherin #bookstagram

What a load of dishwater... and to end the story and in total ignorance of the author there is a balloon release .... 🎈🙈🤬 Disgusted that this was not researched before and think someone making her kind of money has a responsibility not to publish and write about this act as a “ Nice” thing to do ..... BURN it .. don‘t read it.
