Not many books with #fantasysetting I can ‘get into‘ but Gaiman is such an extraordinary storyteller and though I have not read all his books, I‘ve enjoyed these! Can you guess which books these are?

#QuotsyDec18 Day 25: Books make the best #Gifts indeed. And so, from KL to Singapore to Manila, we brought luggages of books to give out to family and friends this year. Each one tailor fit to the individual‘s character, tastes, interests. Clearly, I am a Book Auntie.
Had to go downtown for an appointment today so I stopped by a bookstore on the way. I didn‘t find what I was looking for, but I did find these two awesome books in the bargain aisle & I couldn‘t say no...because Neil Gaiman...and The Picture of Dorian Gray in purple!
As many of you already know, my favorite author is the fabulous Neil Gaiman 🖤 #ReadingResolutions
"And I wrote an outline for Neverwhere, and the great thing was that the outline was just like the opening. I had no idea where it went; I just knew how it began. And I took Croup and Vandemar, who were characters who'd been living in my head since I was about seventeen, and pulled them out."
Neverwhere was my first Gaiman novel. I loved it! The pic on the right is actually my hubby as Croup ? @JReid
This chapter is inspiring me to look into Neil Gaiman's comic, Death: The High Cost of Living. I'm not a huge comic reader though, so we shall see.
"I think one of the great things about fiction is that it takes the chaos of life and feeds it back to one in a form that is emotionally satisfying."
And I love seeing Gaiman's scribbles!! ☺
"...the word 'dream' has more than one meaning: it can be the scenes that play in our sleeping heads, our hopes and aspirations, or the stories we tell ourselves to make sense of the world."
I'm a little behind on my #octphotochallenge so I'm going to post a few in a row. For #literarybestfriend it was hard to pick just one, so instead, I went with one of my favorite authors. #NeilGaiman is an author I can't go wrong with. I have yet to come across a book by him that I haven't immediately fallen in love with.
"As far as I'm concerned, the world is composed of stories." --Neil Gaiman
The power of words... >>"Apparently, you said a word so bad that they would not repeat it to me. What did you say?" and I said, "Fuck." And she said, "That word is so bad you must never, ever ever ever say that again to anybody." And I thought: Cool. You can do that with just a word!
