Gabriel Allon is back in Venice, when a terrible explosion in Rome leads to a disturbing personal revelation: the existence of a dossier in terrorist hands that strips away his secrets, lays bare his history. Hastily recalled home to Israel, drawn once more into the heart of a service he had once forsaken, Allon finds himself stalking an elusive master terrorist across a landscape drenched with generations of blood, the trail turning on itself until, finally, he can no longer be certain who is stalking whom. And when at last the showdown comes, it will not be Gabriel alone who is threatened with destruction - for it is not his history alone that has been laid bare.

This really is an excellent series and is the fourth book I‘ve finished during #24B4Monday. If anyone is looking for a great series with a strong male leading character, plenty of thrilling plots and action, and some intrigue / spy action, then look no further than this series. Strongly recommended.

Now at 21 hrs 37 in the Readathon.

TrishB Love this series 👍🏻 5y
DGRachel One of my favorites! 5y
Andrew65 @DGRachel @TrishB It is a great series and one I want to progress on this year. Looks like I‘ll have plenty of reading time! 5y

This is my stack for the #24B4Monday Readathon. Already started Letters From The Dead and What I Talk About When I Talk About Running.

BeansPage Very good choices! Here's to a great read-a-thon 🍻 5y
DGRachel I don‘t know why I thought 24b4Monday was last weekend. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Guess I will definitely have to rebuild my blanket cave after I finish work tomorrow!! 5y
LiteraryinPA @DGRachel There was a 2-day readathon last weekend. This one is 3 days. I‘ve never done a 24b4Monday one before but I‘m looking forward to it! 5y

Andrew65 @SumisBooks Thanks, and yes indeed! 😊👍 5y
Andrew65 @DGRachel Good luck with that, last weekend was the #24in48 Readathon. 5y
Andrew65 @LiteraryinLititz It‘s great to have you with us. Good luck 😊👍 5y
DGRachel My days are a mess with working from home, it really had nothing to do with the 24in48 readathon. I just thought they were both happening at the same time and didn‘t realize there was one more full March weekend left for 24b4Monday to happen. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 5y
Andrew65 @DGRachel We‘re all of us all over the place at the moment. (edited) 5y

Silva never disappoints. In this the 5th in the series, there are twists and turns a plenty. We also learn more about Gabriel‘s personal life. His books are more than thrillers ,they make you think about art , history, and the complexity of international relations.

Just reading the 5th in the series - the whole series/author was new to me before Litsy and certain people, namely @Cinfhen and @DGRachel
I like that I still have quite a few to catch up on.

Cinfhen Book 17 (I think) comes out July❣️❣️❣️But his older books are better IMHO. Glad you are enjoying this series 😃 7y
TrishB @Cinfhen I like having a couple of series that are like comfort blankets! I think the 7th is the last you can‘t get on kindle, I shall probably get on kindle after that and save shelf space! 7y
Cinfhen Shelf space is becoming a real problem😜 7y

DGRachel Yay! So glad you‘re enjoying these. I had them all on Kindle and then went on a spree at my local used bookstore when I saw they had a bunch of the hardcovers. Over the last year, I‘ve bought the entire series in hardcover, but I still have three to read to catch up to the next release. 😊 7y
TrishB @DGRachel I think we must all buy the same books multiple times!! 7y
DGRachel I think it‘s a Litsy requirement. 😂😂 7y

Gotta give some love to one of my favorite spy thriller series with the #5thbookinaseries. #pirateslife #whatawaytolive (photo from Goodreads, since I only have Kindle editions).

CrowCAH I don't read thrillers, but I just listened to a James Patterson thriller last year and enjoyed it. I might have to try a Daniel Silva, since you enjoy it so much! 8y
Andrew65 This was the first book I read in this series and was immediately hooked. 8y

Still loving the Gabriel Allon series. If you pick this one up, be sure to read the afterward and see how an actual photograph of Yasser Arafat inspired this episode!!

Another gripping tale spun by the master himself! I have to admit, even now I'm not sure I fully followed the complex "web of deceit and double cross," as it is described on the book jacket! Still, a totally thrilling ride - my heart was beating so fast while Allon was in a race against time- and a deeply satisfying reference to Silva's previous four Allon novels. Absolutely superb.

AnnieReads I love all of the Gabriel Allon books! They're so incredibly well written. 8y
