I noticed this book became available on Libby and placed a hold on this auto-read author for me. I was 3/4 of the way through before realizing this was published in 2011. I thought it was a fun action-packed dystopian story. There were some lulls in the plot and that only made me appreciate the evolution of his writing. …And now I don‘t feel so bad about my inability to see the aurora lights so many Americans were able to witness this summer 🤣
Blake Crouch really knows how to write a pulse pounding edge of your seat thriller.
This is my second book by Crouch and it certainly won‘t be the last. This one literally takes off from the very beginning and didn‘t let up until the last page.
I love that I can be so easily transported into the story.
I definitely look forward to more of his novels. Thank you so much to the publisher for a copy via NetGalley!
I have yet to read a Blake Crouch novel that I don't like. Like his other novels, Run is well written and shows great insight into the human condition and human behavior. I described Run to my husband as "Kind of like The Walking Dead, but without the dead." Run focuses on what a family has to do to survive when (living) humans are the thing to be feared.
Run by Blake Crouch - A Five-Star Review
This book grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go until the very end. Blake Crouch does an incredible job of weaving a suspenseful and terrifying tale of survival in a world gone mad. The premise is simple but chilling: a celestial event, the “Great Auroral Storm...

Everything you want in a post apocalyptic thriller. People are the only monsters that scare me. This feels a lot like Cormac McCarthy‘s The Road. It is Blake Crouch‘s debut novel, so it was missing a bit of finesse. The ending felt a little blunt, but I understand where he was going with it. I loved it anyway.
Hoping to get these 3 finished or mostly finished this week! Creepy for Halloween and then Blake Crouch is one of my favorites.

This book is terrifying. Something has turned people against each other, “the affected” are murdering their friends, family and anyone they see. Dee, Jack and their two kids are on the run from New Mexico to Canada to see if there is freedom from the affected. How far do you go and what are you willing to do when you are running for your life? I read this in one sitting.
It looks like they are releasing this Blake Crouch from 2011. I am a fair weather Crouch fan. I will pick up his books but feel a bit middle of the road about him. This is my 4th book of his. I enjoy them while I read them, I was happy to keep picking this up but looking deeper at it, the characters are not well drawn (the main character is a philosophy prof, but no philosophy is talked about and you get no feelings of teacher from him) 👇
Surprisingly unputdownable story of a family fleeing horror and searching for a safe haven.

Not the best book I‘ve ever read but definitely not the worst. This was another recommendation from @Reviewsbylola she liked it but I honestly thought all of the characters except Jack were just unlikable and the whole story just felt phoned in.

A suspected virus has turned a large number of citizens into bloodthirsty, ruthless killers. Dee and Jack flee their home in terror with their two kids in tow, but nowhere seems safe.
This is my 6th Crouch and possibly my favorite. As per usual, I couldn‘t put this down. It‘s very graphic and depressing at times, so not for everyone.
Run is a great title, as this book hits the ground running! This book actually made my heart beat faster and harder more than once, as if I were the one in danger. Action-packed and interesting!
