This whole page about the warfare between the sheep and the flowers has always been my favourite in all literature, the previous page starts it with: "The flowers have been growing thorns for millions of years. For millions of years the sheep have been eating them just the same. And it is not a matter of consequence to try to understand why the flowers go to so much trouble to grow thorns which are never of any use to them?..."

And 58 minutes later I have finished off this book. I found it delightful, and could image it being a beautiful book to read with children, but I don‘t think I‘d read it again solo. 🦊
