My current rewatch. #scarathlondailyprompts @StayCurious #TeamMonsterMash #day13Witch
Disappointing. I thought the character development relied too much on stereotypes without any depth. The world-building, well let‘s just say apparently everything exists in this world except ghosts. Ghosts are where the line is drawn. 🙄 I also felt this was a bit of a bait-and-switch book. (Explained in the comments below marked with spoiler so not to give anything away.)

“North Hampton did not exist on any map, which made locating the small, insular community on the very edge of the Atlantic coast something of a conundrum to outsiders, who were know to wander in by chance only to find it impossible to return; so that the place, with its remarkably empty silver-sand beaches, rolling green fields, and imposing, rambling farmhouses, became more of a half-remembered dream than a memory.”
I know only the first book in the trilogy is represented here but I‘ve completed the whole series and I loved it!!! The writing is light and compelling and the plot is great if you love the fantasy genre or are into mythologies more specifically Norse Mythology since it‘s what this series focuses on.
I enjoyed the world created here. Add in the fun characters and I‘m hooked. Guess I‘m reading the rest of the series now.
I‘ve had this book on my Kobo FOREVER, and haven‘t read it. I watched the first two episodes of the show today on Hulu and liked it, but figured I better read the book first...I hate comparing the book to the show/movie. The other way around isn‘t so bad.
4.5/5 stars. Looking forward to the second book in the series!
#blanketandbookswap better late than never!! Thanks Tiffany!!! @Tiffy_Reads
I really enjoyed the alternating chapters of the three main characters. It really kept it from getting stale. I also really feel a common bond with Ingrid. If you like books involving witches, I think this one is a must.
This was a quick read. A little mystery, a lot of romance and a lot of otherworldly beings (witches, zombies, vampires and Nordic gods/goddesses). I enjoyed starting to learn about all the characters and look forward to interacting with them again in the next book.
😱 I'm posting here before Instagram ... whaaaaa??? Anyway, I could probably count this beauty as part of my #screamathon reads. Half of it has been read in September, and now I have the 2nd half for October! 🎃🎃🎃 #Halloween
This book is pretty dumb but I enjoyed most of it! Cw for brief sexual violence (the handling of which is not good! Spoiler: I do not care if it was just in a dream! Still bad!).
OMG! I actually really, really, really enjoyed this book. It was perfect for the mood I was in: something light and mysterious and fun. Witches, Vampires and Norse gods! How can you go wrong. I loved this! Listen if you like the show THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT IT. They are like night and day from each other. Just forewarning.
I thought I was going to love this - magical family dynasty who isn't supposed to use magic but is, plus the Hamptons? Sold. Except I hated the writing and Freya's story line was The Worst. Dnf'd.
After watching the series, I wanted to read the book. Ok, but slow first half. Decent use of Norse mythos. #readathon #deweys24hourreadathon
Need something less brainy now... So time to finish this one off... As well as the Starbucks Coldbrew in the fridge my better half got me. Normally I don't do much caffeine but at 4AM and only a 1.5 Hr nap.... #readathon #deweys24hourreadathon
