I was lucky enough to see an exhibition of Kahlo and Rivera‘s work at my city‘s art museum this past fall, and I‘d like to read this novelization of Frida‘s life. I bet it‘s interesting!

pick10/52 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed reading this novel because it included so many true facts about her life. It included recipes that sound delicious- too bad I don‘t cook. I can‘t wait to go to her house, now a museum, in about 8 weeks!!!

Finally getting some quality reading time with the hopes of finishing this book weekend. I am very excited to visit the places mentioned in this book, taste the food and see the artwork discussed in this his book. Mexico City is going to be a great travel adventure.

pickThis is one I set aside for a while and came back to. The life and times of Frida Kahlo are fascinating, as are the social arenas she and husband Diego Rivera lived in. The book is a fiction biography (biographical fiction?) framed by the (fictional?) secret journal and cooking notes of Frida herself. It's a nice, warm book and appreciative of the artist and the woman.
One more Frida collage from the exhibit we saw yesterday. This book looks fascinating! Check out the family photo - that's Frida on the far left in her father's suit. I am more enchanted than ever by her courage and her art.
