Pickpick

Charles Bravo (in pic) was murdered in a way you wouldn‘t wish on your worst enemy. Perhaps. I do not pity him. Ruddick researches an 1867 cold case and methodically lays out a theory about whodunit. He unearths some motives and eliminates some. I‘m convinced (enough for a layperson not a juror). I didn‘t like that Ruddick said he was using the process of elimination and then didn‘t—otherwise Bravo! (Bad pun.) #victorian #truecrime

I wouldn‘t have heard of this Victorian true crime book if not for Littens! I don‘t even care who killed the rotten victim at this point but whoever it was REALLY wanted him to suffer. Yeeps! #truecrime #NFNovember #NFNov

veritysalter This definitely looks like my kind of book - stacked 📚Thank you for the recommendation. 5y
ljuliel This was very good ! 5y
jillrhudy @veritysalter I had to interlibrary loan it from the nearest big city library! It was worth it! 5y

This Victorian True Crime book is a real whodunit. Florence married Charles Bravo and the marriage was an unhappy one and it ended with Charles dying an agonizing death. Was he poisoned? If so, was it the wife, her lover, the housekeeper, or the stable hand? #poison #septemberdanes

Cinfhen Interesting!!! I‘ve already stacked 6y
jillrhudy Evidently I stacked this already. Double stack!!! ✊🏻 6y

Mdargusch I hope you like it @jillrhudy - I‘m a sucker for true crime but especially historical true crime! 5y
jillrhudy @Mdargusch I‘m about halfway through and really hoping it was a four-person conspiracy. Jerk!!! 5y

I just read this P.D. James quote and I think it fits quite nicely with today‘s photo challenge prompt.

One of my favorite true crime books every. Charles Bravo was brutally poisoned. Despite a lot of interest in the case over the years (Agatha Christie was even involved at one point), the murderer was never discovered. Was it really his wife, Florence Ricardo? #alonewithyou #marchintooz

vivastory Sounds excellent. Stacked! 7y

#Death

Here's a seamy little work of true crime set in a posh Victorian manor. Did Florence Ricardo really murder her abusive husband and get away with it?
