Unabridged Audiobook (10/10):
As always, I loved Grand Admiral Thrawn and everything he did for the Empire following Endor, however the focus in this novel is less on him and more on Mara Jade and her struggles with the Force.
Listening to Luke, Leia, and Mara all use the Force in their own ways was definitely the highlight of this novel and I can‘t wait to hear more about their stories!
“and she was finally free”
Even if the ending seemed a bit rushed, overall it was a satisfying conclusion to the Thrawn trilogy. I'm looking forward to Thrawn's appearance on The Mandalorian, I only wish they'd find some way to pull in Mara Jade too. 4 🚀🚀🚀🚀
10/10 #bookbuyingdiet (woo hoo!!)
My second finish for #progressitnovember. Although I am not progressing as much as I would like, I am making progress
This was a reread for me, and I still think the Thrawn trilogy holds up well. I really wish they had incorporated Mara Jade into the new Star Wars movies, she was such a great character.
This was by far the best of the three books! The last 100 pages had me so anxious I found myself having to put it down for a few minutes before picking it back up again. SO worth the read.
“Do not be concerned for their safety, son of Vader,” he said. “The Lady Vader will not easily be defeated. Not with the Wookie Chewbacca at her side.”
An amazing addition to the Star Wars epic! The thrilling conclusion completes the arc of character developments and reveals the results of Grand Admiral Thrawn's plans. Anyone who loves the classic Star Wars canon (now called “Legends“) will enjoy this series immensely. Thrawn, a fan favorite, is the real selling point. It's great to have all the classic characters in their familiar roles, but Thrawn, as the new antagonist, is masterful.
Thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. This trilogy started a bit slow for me but kicked into gear with books 2 and 3. Now I‘m in the mood for every Star Wars book that involves Mara... and I‘m annoyed my library wait lost is so long! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I mean that,” he insisted, throwing a brief and entirely unconvincing scowl at her. “I‘m here because it suits my purposes. Not for the sake of your war.”
“I said I understood,” Leia agreed, smiling privately to herself. The words were different; but the look on Karrde‘s face was almost identical.
(Knew there was a reason Karrde became my favorite throughout this trilogy 😄)
The Last Command is the finale of Zahn's Thrawn trilogy. Zahn's characters don't overly rely on the Force but use resourcefulness to evade deadly situations.
Poor dismount. Long, and I often found myself rolling my eyes. If you‘ve got excellent suspension of your disbelief, it won‘t bother. But it was much harder to get through than the first two.
I feel like this is taking me too long. Maybe because the last two books I read were brilliant and poignant and each took me only a few days to get through. This is still a lot of fun for the most part, but is draaaaaaagiiiiiiing

It's summer, so allowing myself a little science fiction break! Loved this Thrawn series from Timothy Zahn. He did a great job capturing the original characters from the movies, and his stories are colorful and well-paced. I would absolutely recommend the Thrawn books to serious Star Wars fans - the original trilogy plus the new book just called Thrawn.
Just finished my re-read of the Thrawn Trilogy by Tim Zahn, this time the audio version. Mark Thompson made this listen a blast! If you're a Star Wars fan and are cool with reading any Legends material, give Thrawn a try. Zahn perfectly captures all of the magic, characters, & action of Star Wars!
Awesome series! Far better than The Force Awakens, and just a reminder...this is who Han is....
