WHAT LIES AHEAD IS ALREADY HERE... America is a difficult place to live below the surface. But Gabriel and Michael Corrigan are trying to do just that. Since childhood, the brothers have been shaped by the stories that their father has told them about the world in which they live. After his mysterious disappearance, they have been living 'off the grid' - that is, invisible to the intrusive surveillance networks that monitor our modern lives. But no-one is as invisible as they would like to believe. Nathan Boone, a mercenary, has been tasked to hunt down the brothers. The only person who stands between them and certain death is Maya, a tough young woman playing at leading a normal life. But her background is anything but normal. She has been trained to fight and survive at whatever cost. When she is summoned to protect the brothers, she must leave everything behind if she is to succeed...

.5/5⭐ So much telling and info-dumping and useless information (we don't need to know a character likes sushi; it has nothing to do with what's going on). Based on the author's foreword and website, the book feels more like an indulgence in paranoid conspiracy theory than actual exploration of surveillance issues.

I came across The Traveler by chance at a used bookstore many years ago, and I haven‘t heard many people talk about it. I thought this series was really cool and inventive with complex characters. A strange sci-fi journey, that‘s also kind of new-age. I think it‘s #underrated. #30JuneBooks

Day 9 #adventrecommends @emilyrose_x

This trilogy is brilliant; an action thriller to the end. This trilogy is a must for Sci-fi conspiracy fans as you follow Mia & Gabriel take on the Tabula who seek to control the world. The tabula are looking to destroy the travelers who risk their plans through travelling the realms protected by the Harlequin warriors.

Soubhiville I love this series! I feel like very few have read it. 6y
JaneyWaneyB @Soubhiville me too, people crinkle their nose when I tell them about it but I bet they would rave about it if it was a Netflix show 🙄😂 6y
Andrew65 Okay are you sure we weren‘t separated at birth😂 Never seen anyone else on any book site mention this book that I own but unfortunately not got to yet. The 2019 list is expanding! 😊 6y

I'm reading this great series again. I've left it long enough that it's like watching a classic movie and forgetting this bit, oh and that bit.

If you haven't read these and enjoy Jason Bourne and sci-fi thrillers then this is the series for you!

#Novemberbythenumbers #Twelve The Traveller by John TWELVE Hawks. This author is an unknown, and is also known by J12H/JXIIH. Apparently he communicates via an untraceable phone and has never met his editor. Not often the author is more of a mystery than the book. I picked this up in a charity shop but am yet to read it. Has anyone read it? It is the first book in a trilogy.

jpmcwisemorgan I‘m intrigued! 7y

Picked this up for 99p in a charity shop and what a well spent 99p that was! I could not put this book down. Thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters. This is the first in a trilogy so guess where I'm heading now . . . Off to Amazon to hunt down the other 2 books. #summerreading

It got some harsh reviews over at goodreads and a firestorm of commentary, but I enjoyed it. Despite its flaws. Also, got to enjoy this #litsypartyofone courtesy of a high windstorm knocking out power at the tea room where I work, so I drove home early and cuddled up. 😊

#LitsyQuiz! Round 2, Title 4. Will my fellow Litsyans come out flawless as they always do with their acute and wide-ranging biblio-knowledge? I present to you selection four. Have you read/bought/seen/heard about this book before? 😎👍🏻

jpmcwisemorgan I have not read it but I used to have a copy. All my books have yet to be unpacked so I don't know if I still have it - I downsized my living space so I ended up donating a lot of books last year. Thanks for the reminder on it because I do want to read it! 8y
Coleen Almost ditto to the above. I know for sure I used to own a hardcover of this. Did not read it & not positive, but I think I traded it away. 8y
CocoReads Own but haven't read. And in fact, I can only tell you it's in my basement--no more specific than that 8y

jpmcwisemorgan I'd like to add that I have/had the cover shown in Litsy (the one with sunglasses). Now that you've reminded me of this book I'm going to have to find a copy so I can read it. 8y
jpmcwisemorgan @CallMeIshmael There are sequels?! Holy biscuits! 8y
StellaDz I've read this one, years ago, and remember enjoying it. I never went on to the other books in the series, probably because they were quite hard to find in my small town at the time. 8y
CallMeIshmael @jpmcwisemorgan yep, it is a part of a trilogy 8y
Debiw781 I own this one... not sure I ever read it 8y
jpmcwisemorgan @CallMeIshmael Thanks! I guess I'm going to the library soon. 8y
Sarrie I believe I have it on my shelves downstairs! There is another book or two in the series? It's been awile since I've picked them up. I really should! 8y
Soubhiville I loved this series, although the third one was my least favorite, probably because I listened to the audio and really disliked the narrator. But this one's great! Read it if you haven't. 8y
Soubhiville My copy had a guy on a motorcycle... 8y
Peddler410 Nope, not this one either 😕 8y

Mehso-so

I'm not usually into this sort of genre...whatever that is, some sci-fi fantasy reality line-blur but this was an enjoyable read...right up to the end where it was clear the story would continue in the next of what was to be a trilogy series. I didn't know that going in. Had I, I might have steered clear. But, since the first book was a captivating read, I anxiously awaited the second. Unfortunately the wait was not rewarded.
