My 1st book to be finished in 2020. I picked up this short stories with the intention of reading it quickly. But I was totally wrong! Though it‘s a small book I need to pause at intervals, thinking & rethinking about author‘s prospectives & several other possibilities. It is much different than all other short stories.2 more stories to go! Reading as slow as 🐌 which appeared on the wall😛

1st book of #20in20

This is a great collection of short stories.

I especially liked "An Unwritten Novel" and "A Mark on the Wall" which follow Woolf's imaginative process through stream of consciousness and hopefully give an insight into her authorial method. (Isn't that just a lovely clunky academic-y sentence!)
In English: you get to listen to how her imagination carries her away and creates stories.

Recommended, but possibly not for newcomers to Woolf.

2. Don't think I've read any retellings

3. Once upon a time. I've not seen the latest season

4. Beauty and the Beast

I give this one 3.75 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Let me first say that this collection won't be for everyone. Virginia Woolf does not write in a conventional character or plot driven style. Her stories are not about epic battles or amazing people. She writes emotion and thoughts and about the banality of everyday life. Her style is stream of consciousness as well, and is very random and experimental.
