I wasn't paying attention and then I looked down and discovered that I had organized my M&Ms by color. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😅🤣

When you have the urge to rearrange your shelf... but you realize it‘s 9:30 at night....

Ohhhh, the mental struggle.

Yes. Yes I am the type to have a spreadsheet for my reading challenges 🤣 Also, the first year starting the #popsugar challenge, we did the prior year by accident so @sammisho and I decided to tackle both 2017 AND 2018 this year. We can do it!

Purpleness A Gentleman in Moscow was my book set in a hotel, too! 6y
LoverofLit @Purpleness That's what I'm currently reading! I'm about a quarter of the way through 😊 6y
sammisho You put my piece of notebook paper to shame. 6y
LoverofLit @sammisho I love your piece of paper with scribbles and writing on it. It perfectly encapsulates your messy and creative brain. You're my balance! 6y

It‘s the chaos part now. 🤪

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Yea... every time I reorganize there comes a time I usually regret it (mid-chaos) 6y

Progress!

swishandflick Love that bookshelf!! 😍 6y
JSW @swishandflick World Market. Pricy, but gorgeous and sturdy. 6y
JSW It also has more shelves that we can adjust the height for. 6y
2BR02B You've earned a reading break! 6y

So. Excited. Rearranging shelves and making me a tiny reading corner in our tiny living room. 😍

Love seeing other Littens' #goodreads shelves. I keep mine very simple.

dariazeoli I like the idea of a favorites shelf. I'm stingy with my 5-star ratings ☺️ 7y
britt_brooke @dariazeoli I'm pretty stingy with them as well. Or, probably more accurately, I'm more stingy with them now than I used to be. Evolution of a reader! 7y

Finally updated my owned but not yet read list on goodreads and put all these books on my reading list to help my #secretsantagoespostal buddy.

Wife I don't find Goodreads easy to navigate, but I think this is a good idea. I'll try to figure it out this week. 🌹 7y
BethM @Wife I feel the same way. I sincerely wish that our TBR list on Litsy had a box you could check if you own the book. 7y
Wife @BethM That would be awesome! 7y

Yellowpigeon @Wife @BethM, agreed!! Maybe a mount tbr symbol! I also want a wtf ranking for weird books. Annihilation didn't fall into our current three rankings for me. 7y
BethM Who do we tag to make this happen lol?! 7y
Yellowpigeon @BethM, I've suggested it through the shaking. We'll see 7y

Whew. I'm getting there in my challenges! My reading took a backseat this month because of work, but I still managed to make some progress, so I'm feeling proud of myself :)

Hestapleton I love this graph! How did you make it? 7y
BooksAtNight @Hehaney I used the stacked bar graph function in Microsoft Excel :) 1 column # completed tasks, 1 column # remaining tasks 7y

Checking in on my reading challenges makes me feel better. Work has been yucky to say the least, but at least I'm still reading! I've got a fair bit of catching up to do - how's everyone else doing? Are you working on one challenge at a time or hopping between them?

Smrloomis Oooh, I love your progress bars 😍 were they easy to make??? 7y
BooksAtNight @Smrloomis Pretty easy if you've got Excel. You need the following columns: challenge name, how many completed, how many remain. Then just plot away using the stacked bars plot😊 (edited) 7y

Alright #booknerds I have a question? How do you organize your reading log and TBR? I've only been tracking my reading list for a few years and am super curious what types of things you track. I'm thinking about adding publisher and format to my Excel for 2017? And I found Wunderlist to help organize my #TBR by different types! My Goodreads got overwhelming for trying to keep track of TBR and it was difficult to track where I heard of the books

RanaElizabeth I must only be half a booknerd because I don't really do any TBR tracking. I have an Internet bookmark that I dump GR pages into but that's really it, and I barely look at it. I just figure that there are always more books and missing one isn't gonna be a great loss. No FOMO here, so no TBR. 😎 7y
Notafraidofwords @RanaElizabeth I very loosely track my TBR which is here on litsy and on my phone. I'm an emotional reader so I just read what suits me. 7y
LauraBeth I always like to know where I got the recommendation - so I'll try and note that 7y

prowlix @RanaElizabeth @Notafraidofwords I had started the TBR list when I started to try to diversify more. I find if I didn't make a conscious effort, I end up reading very narrow selection which made me uncomfortable 😣 7y
RanaElizabeth @Notafraidofwords Exactly, unless it's a upcoming book club pick. I only pick next books when I finish the current book. I'm a very mood-based reader and I also can't read the same genre twice in a row. 7y
RanaElizabeth @prowlix That totally makes sense and is quite admirable. I wonder if setting up a GR group and setting it to private would give you more control over shelves than just a personal account does. You could even make notes to yourself by commenting. 7y
Lola My TBR is an informal affair made up of my "Want to Read" shelf on GR (which I add to whenever I hear of a book that might interest me so I don't forget it) and all of the physical and ebooks I've already acquired. Anything more, for me, would feel like a homework list and stress me out. I do love stats tho' and would like to figure out how to do a pie chart at the end of the year with my reading statistics from that year. 7y
Lola @RanaElizabeth I do have a private GR group and I LOVE IT (and spend way too much time playing with it 😂). I use it to keep track of challenges, the TOB, all kinds of bookish things. 7y
prowlix @Lola @RanaElizabeth I hadn't thought of private GR group! The Wunderlist can be used offline and then updates which is part of why I love it. I use it for non-bookish things too 7y
prowlix @Lola I do like making graphs and pie charts! It helps me keep on track with all my bookish goals 🤓 7y

Totally nerded out after my last trip to bookstore! Using my LITSY app to find books I wanted to read was a Total Fail! So I have created a sortable spreadsheet with title/author/genre/priority ratings & ownership status accessible from all my devices. Next trip to bookstore will be a breeze! 🤓

DiruVamp Looks great! 8y
Megabooks I need to do this!! 8y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Looks great! My DH is a spreadsheet wiz - he has one for golf courses he's played. I was thinking yesterday about asking him to make me a book one! 8y
callunakeep @BarbaraTheBibliophage My BF is a spreadsheet whiz as well, which is what gave me thought in the first place! 😊 8y
BookFreakOut Nice! I'm really bad at follow through with tracking like that, but I figure there will always be something in store that's good even if I forget what I looked at last time. 😉 8y
