so-so

I enjoyed this book but I did not love it. The book had a somewhat sexist feel to me and that was not helped when it was implied that the main character cheats on a girlfriend to help him with a case. I know it was set in the 1980's, but the attitudes felt older than that. Otherwise it was a good story, so I am somewhat torn by this one. The book is about 'the making of a detective' and not a detective story and that part worked for me. 3.25/5

This is book one in the Decective William Warwick series. Though there is several cases that William resolves, it is the story of the man that captured my attention. You can't help put fall for this character of William. He is young and a bit naive when he starts his career and I loved following his growth and adventures. Read in one sitting. 4.5 āļø¸

My first book by this author-read until the early morning & finished today.Looking forward to reading more by this author.it‘s a fast paced mystery, with a few cases intertwined.William,an art history major joins the Metro Police. After working the streets for two years he is made a Scotland Yard detective with the Arts & Antiquities Division. A Rembrandt is stolen from a museum and the chase is on!

Crazeedi This one (it is a series, but I'm not sure I read them all) and the series The Clifton Chronicles, first one 'Only Time Will Tell' (it's an excellent series)

A solid first in a new series by Jeffrey Archer, following a character we were introduced to in the Clifton Chronicles. Family drama + courtroom drama combine to create a fast, entertaining, can't-put-down read (or listen...in my case). I really enjoyed the Clifton series by Archer on audio, so I can't wait for the next in this series. #series

Master storyteller keeps pages turning. Stolen Rembrandt must be found. Story ends with cliffhanger. Looking forward to 2nd book in series. Recommended for those who love mix of history with mystery.

Start of a new series!!! Easy to read, good old fashioned detective š•µļø¸ā€¨ā™€ļø¸ novel. Set in the 70s so no cell phones or computers and only a mention of DNA. Not about murder it‘s a fine arts heist by a very shrewd cat burglar. Very, very good!!!!
š’š’š’ all his books.
