The Best Thing | Mariana Zapata

Some things are easily forgiven. Other things… not so much.
Lenny DeMaio made herself a promise: she was done.
Done thinking about him.
Done worrying about him.
Done reaching out to a man who clearly didn’t want to be found.
Too bad no one gave Jonah Collins the memo.

As soon as I started this book I knew it was going to be something special. Remember a few weeks ago I read Luna and the Lie? Yeah. Well this is about her best friend. The love interest is so soft spoken and gentle. Second chance romance is hard to accomplish. Zapata definitely did it really well.

#LitsyLove 5 year anniversary ❤️

Lots of wonderful things have happened over the last 5 years, but adding Noodle to the family was one of the best 🐱

This wasn't a terrible read, but kind of boring, to be honest. The internal monologue was redundant and there wasn't much tension or action.

I enjoyed this one but it didn't grab me like Dear Aaron did.

I will read every book Mariana Zapata publishes. I have to say this one was not my favorite. I did feel like it started slow but boy did it end well! ❤️ I still gave it 5 stars just because the ending was THAT good! #romantsy #romance #marianazapata #fivestars

More slow burn perfection! Jonah was awesome and there were so many great moments. #romance #romantsy

This book is mostly tedious and repetitive. It‘s very slow. There are supposed to be surprise reveals, but they are predictable. All that said, there are a few laugh out loud moments, and that saves it from being a complete waste of time. 3 out of 5 stars.

I had really high hopes for this book and I will say I was a little worried in the beginning. I caught myself skimming parts and just didn‘t care for the writing in the beginning. Butttt.... Mariana redeemed herself in the end. I fell in love again and her characters are just so realistic and loveable. ❤️ Second chance romances are hard to write and not always my favorites but Mariana did a great job with this one.

Anytime a new book comes out by this author I have to have it. She seriously never disappoints. Her characters are so real and I absolutely love that all couples become best friends before they fall in love.
I think my fav character was Grandpa Gus. He was the freaking best.

If you love romance and slow burn then read this book! So good without so much angst. Too much angst is bad for the stomach 😝.

Another lovely Slow Burn Romance by Mariana Zapata. This features a MMA gym manager and a rugby player. This has quite possibly the sweetest male protagonist of any romance I‘ve ever read. Gentle Giant is definitely apropos. I highly recommend! #romantsy #recommendsday
