I really liked this book and the atmosphere of the renaissance faire. The romance was cute, the characters storyline was nicely developed. You liked the side characters as well (set up for book 2). The sexy scene was more detailed and explicit than I was expecting based on the tone of the book, so be ready for that. Also, the lead male character who was uptight playing a sexy pirate at the faire was fun! Already put on hold the next in the series.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.17-18: naturally the doubts creep in. She really needs to take her own advice and give the guy a chance. But she also deserves to be romanced. She‘s never had that and it will feel nice. But will Simon woo her as himself or will he be more confident in his pirate persona?

BarkingMadRead I am really looking forward to the wooing 19h
CrowCAH That‘s a good question. Seems pirate-Simon is more romantic and lovey. While teacher-Simon is too uptight. Maybe he‘ll be able to find a balance between the two personalities. 19h

CrowCAH @BarkingMadRead same! How will he win his Faire lady‘s hand?! 19h
CogsOfEncouragement Emily‘s previous relationship seems like a cautionary tale from start to finish 😕 18h
LiseWorks I loved the wooing idea, cannot wait to see what he will come up with 16h
vonnie862 Good question. Since Simon appears to be more confident as a pirate, maybe he'll channel him to woo her? 16h
julesG The meme is 😂😂 11h
SarahBookInterrupted I read ahead now after the Wooing. I couldn‘t resist and then just finished the book. Don‘t worry I won‘t spoil anything. 🤞 (edited) 6h

So cute with characters just flawed enough that you wanted to see their HEA! A solid romance with the perfect ending!

#LittensLoveRomance Emily is given a well-needed nudge by a fortune cookie and Mitch (of all people!) and she goes to straighten things out with Simon. Thank goodness for that. See what talking to each other gets you, folks? But I worry that they both still have a lot of insecurities which may weigh them down in the chapters to come.

CrowCAH I was so happy for her to take that leap of faith and go to his house for a conversation! Things could work out between them! ☺️ 2d
Kshakal I am proud of her for taking a leap of faith! 2d

LiseWorks It's great to see her go for what she wants 2d
LiseWorks Love the pirate meme 2d
CogsOfEncouragement I enjoyed this line -
Simon: I‘ve known [Mitch] for more than twenty years, and this is the first time he‘s ever been subtle.

vonnie862 I'm glad they talked but I feel that they're boning was a little too sudden. 2d
Read4life Hopefully they continue to talk to each other and open up about their insecurities, feelings, etc. 1d
SarahBookInterrupted I wasn‘t expecting this book to be sooo explicit and detailed in the sex scene. Did anyone else expect that from the way the book had been going thus far? Now we know where the pirate persona comes from. ☺️ 6h

Theres Pumpkin About You | Athena Carstairs

This was a cute fall romance!

The set up is not the greatest and is the weakest part of the book. The party at the pumpkin farm and fixing up the barn premise didn‘t quite work. But since this is a romance I just rolled with it. The book is also a bit of a slow burn.

The two leads were cute together. I loved seeing their relationship slowly develop.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.13-14: it seems as though Emily is finally ready to talk - with her sister, but maybe with Simon too. That is the only way she‘ll get things sorted with Simon. Because he is definitely not helping. Boy‘s got issues - totally understandable ones - but issues nonetheless with Mitch and his brother. I think Emily needs to be brave and take charge and go after what she wants, in both love and life. ⬇️

StayCurious But there‘s still several weeks of Faire left so…things may not be as easy as all that. 3d
BarkingMadRead Omg someone needs to smack Simon upside the head with his sword ⚔️ and how does she not realize he‘s jealous?!? That ex did a number on her 3d

vonnie862 So, is Mitch also interested? 3d
CrowCAH Emily certainly has trust issues. @vonnie862 I believe Mitch kinda likes her, but more in a flirty way than wanting more. 3d
CogsOfEncouragement I was so ready for a surprise ending to that fight, boy was I wrong. How is Emily not curious about what exactly happens at pub sing? I‘m dying to know at this point. I‘m anxious for something extraordinary to happen at this Sunday night out. @vonnie862 @CrowCAH I‘m not sure, of course, but I take Mitch as an incurable flirt. I also feel like Stacey held back when talking about Mitch & Simon “not fighting over girls” in HS. 3d
LiseWorks That fortune cookies. " Ask te right Question." Might help her. 2d
CrowCAH @LiseWorks very true, maybe give her a nudge to ask more questions. 2d

Funny Story | Emily Henry

This is the 2nd Emily Henry book I‘ve read (the other being Book Lovers). I really loved this one! I loved how Daphne was a children‘s librarian & the set up of the novel. I really respected her as a character. I‘m new to the romance genre & this one was highly recommended & I‘m glad I read it! I would love 2 see this adapted to film or tv! I appreciated the connection Daphne had with her mom & the struggles she had with her dad. I could relate.

I couldn't get enough of this book! It was so good and shows how some relationships turn into a stale mate and it takes 2 to realize that a change is needed so everyone finds their happiness and love 💜
