Rereading this book, I read it years ago and it stuck with me! Hopefully it will be as good as I remember

Have taught this this text 5 times and just re read it. It is like an adult choose your own adventure book. Captivating characters and situations and you really are on the edge of your seat as info comes to light. Definitely in my top 5 books of all time!

There are too many fantastic books set in NYC, most of which you've already read (10:04). So, I am recommending a book set in the state where I grew up: Minnesota. Tim O'Brien wrote one of my favorite 1001 books (The Things They Carried) and I also enjoyed this mystery.

One of the things I am missing this summer is my vacation to visit family in the Twin Cities and the few days we'd spend at the lake.

Baudette, MN in Lake of the Woods.

This is a tough decision to make, but I'm going to have to bail on this. I REALLY wanted to like this, but I'm just not into the story that much.

John Wade just lost an election by a landslide. Bit by bit we learn he‘s got some weird behaviors and something bad happened during his service in Vietnam. His wife goes missing while they‘re out at The Lake of the Woods. Did John kill her or did she run out on him?
An interesting story that makes you think.

My new favorite bookmark.

So this was a recommendation from my husband...not sure what I should think about that! I absolutely loved how this was written and the way it ends. Disturbing in a good way?

In September, after the primary, they rented an old yellow cottage in the timber at the edge of Lake of the Woods. There were many trees, mostly pine and birch, and there was the dock and the boathouse and the narrow dirt road that came through the forest and ended in polished gray rocks at the shore below the cottage. Then there were no roads at all.

Set just after the disappearance of a woman, and it focuses on whether or not her husband killed her. I dont want to give to much away, but if you liked Gone Girl, I think you'll like this. SUPER creepy, excellent read! #bodyofwater #maybookflowers @RealLifeReading

Yay for finding a book to get me out of my slump! This short, moody, intense novel kept me absorbed and invested the whole way through. Tim O'Brien is a masterful writer and I have loved everything I've read of his.

This was another set I fell into accidentally.
At first blush they may not look like they have much in common. But their stance on the damage that war does could be written by the same person. And some of their sources appear in both - how cool is that.
Fair warning: the O'Brien book is hard to take in parts. And the history book is like a college textbook - it's dense and footnoted throughout.

Wow, that was not what I expected. Really loved the style of this novel.

This came highly recommend so going to give it a shot.

Visiting my daughter ( @GameAndRead ) in Chicago and went by Myopic Books. It is amazing! So many books!

Do people still read this book? They should! When you get to the end it's like you slammed a slush puppy and your brain stops and your head vibrates.

Seriously one of the creepiest books I've ever read but it's worth the nightmares. Just goes to show you can never trust a narrator
