This is a great family saga following the lives of the Novak family that grew up in a coal mining town in Pennsylvania. The town and their heritage plays an integral part in the way they live out their lives. It was interesting to see what influence the "old country" had in the lives of the coal miners and how the families like the Novaks had to change with the times. I thought it was a great day to finish this audiobook on a walk.

These three books were recommended and loaned to me by @Reviewsbylola and so far she is 2 for 3! I haven't read Baker Tower yet, but I'm assuming I will like it as much as I liked the first two. I love having daughters that read and then recommend! #recommendedtoyou #autumnreads

If you enjoy family sagas, pick this one up! Spanning 30 ish years in a mining town, Baker Tower follows five siblings. All five siblings make very different choices as they grow up, and their lives lead them in different directions, but Bakerton is always their home base. I loved the small town setting and the atmosphere as the book moved through the 40s, 50s, 60s and into the 70s. I can't wait to add Heat and Light to my June BOTM box!

My kids are both asleep so I'm doing a "quick" #bathandbook with this gem. It's one of those books that has been sitting on my shelves for awhile. I have no idea how it got on my TBR but I found it on Thrift Books for a great price and snagged it. I happened to grab it for a picture the other night and @Audrey was singing its praises so I picked it up. And I just love it. It makes me wonder what other secret winners I have lurking on my shelves.
