It was ok enough that I finished it.
Really loved this one! So well researched! Loved the mix of fiction and nonfiction! I hope they turn this one into a movie. In the top reads for 2021!
Add it to your list! Especially on audible! It‘s so damn good! Def a favorite read for this year!
My latest audible. Memoir of an African American female ER doctor. A bit relatable bc of the healthcare jargon, but for me it didn‘t live up to the hype. I was expecting more. I often come home to my hubby with my own patient stories. With stories that are raw and vulnerable and amazing and sometimes really sad and heartbreaking. So I was looking for that same rawness and it rarely came through. This one for me was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️.
LUSTER
This one has been getting rave reviews , most likely bc the writing is superb, smart, and sexy. With an eccentric storyline , yet also perfectly believable in today‘s world. One can assume nothing when couples choose to engage in open relationships. This story was raw and at times cringy. Is it worth the hype?? Meh for me. It was really wordy at times. It was better than most but not a book I‘ll rave about to strangers. #LUSTER
Twenty-five years ago, my family lived in a house named Baneberry Hall, situated just outside the village of Bartleby, Vermont. We moved in on June 26. We fled in the dead of night on July 15. Twenty days.
I‘ll give this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️. It was ok, not my favorite.
# 12 of 2020 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#Thelifewebury has been sitting in my audible account for years untouched. I started it and became so intrigued with the story that I started reading the rest of it.
A college assignment begins the investigation into a 30 year old murder. And whether or not the convicted killer is guilty or innocent.
This one was well written with underlining stories that flowed.

Page turner! I was engulfed with this one. Word descriptions that would give me a shudder. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
~This house is sick with rot, stinks of decay, brims with every single evil and cruel sentiment. I have tried to hold on to my wits, to keep this foulness away but I cannot. ~

Verity......⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I can see this one being turned into a movie. Quick read! Nice little page turner!
This is no. 9 of 2020.
“He must have surrendered to the limitations of those of us who live deaf and blind with just 5 senses.”
This one will go as a favorite. It was a perfect crescendo of beautiful storytelling. A historical fiction novel that ironically begins around the time of the Spanish flu. Very surreal to read of the similarities of the then and now! Loved this one! 💗🐝
Alicia drops words of wisdom worth highlighting and re-examining. Her album that resides with ME the most, is her very first album. Hearing the details on her songs and then pushing pause to go and push play was a lot of times nostalgic. Her memoir is insightful, positive and demonstrates her personal awareness and growth. It was a kind reminder to always be your best self and find forward movement that resides well within ones soul.
Book6 of 2020 via audible. #Homegoing ; Impressive that it‘s a debut novel! Very well written and very well researched! A full circle novel spanning across centuries, yet each chapter connected to the last. It‘s “a portrait of the origins of slave trade and it‘s reverberations” stemming from Ghana.
Pieces of Her; This one starts off quick! It‘s a decent read, although there were some character traits that didn‘t add up throughout the story. It‘s a turn off for me when things don‘t read cohesively. It‘s set to be a Netflix series starring Toni Colette who I always enjoy!
Sci-fi and time travel ! I have really enjoyed the two books from Blake Crouch that I have read! This one was good!
Meh. I finished it but barely remember anything about it. Not memorable.
Beautiful read! Favorite quote..... “In my old age, I see that life itself is more fantastic and terrible than the stories we believed in as children, and perhaps, there is no harm in finding magic among the trees.” 💗
Via audible. I enjoyed this one! Lots of motivation and positivity throughout!
Nothing to see here ......leaves me with nothing to review either. Unimpressive. And also most women don‘t drop what they are doing to handle up their feelings on a basket ball court. That scene annoyed me for its unrealistic-ness.
It‘s a pick bc it‘s based on an actual school of horror. I cannot fathom how these poor children survived! The book was only so-so for me, I found the author to ramble with his words. I often had to reread paragraphs to get my interest regained. The book has ended but really felt unfinished.
I was expecting so much more from this one. Too much dame in despair for me.
Strange in a weird way. Not a horror or mystery just random with some extra random nonsense thrown in. Happy it was a short story.
This one via audible. I laughed and scoffed and rooted for her! When I bought the book , I didn‘t realize I was already familiar with the author. I‘ve been following her on social media for awhile now. She‘s had quite the come up!
Ahhh this was such an easy read! I was rooting for the main character. One of my bucket list vacations is to trek and camp out in the Grand Canyon. There are guided tours I once obsessed over. Not sure I‘ll ever actually do it but this character did something similar.
FavQuote “The things we remember are what we hold on to, and what we hold on to becomes the story of our lives. We only get one story. And I am determined to make mine a good one.”
Really enjoyed this one! Easy read and I was rooting for her! 🥰
“The only secret to love is kindness”
Love, loyalty, disfunction, mental illness and alcoholism all rolled in to make a beginning , middle and end. It‘s a good family drama. I recommend. #askagainyes #bookstagram #reads #bookworm
Driving and ugly crying just driving and ugly crying. 😭💔
How to Walk Away - # 9. Beach reads are among us! Good enough that I finished it pretty quickly. You‘re young and in love and ready to take on the world. Then the next minute you are shattered and you have to reinvent what you and your life looks like.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Listened to this one via audible and I loved it! I even listened to it outside of the car which I hardly ever do! Great narration! Quick and short chapters! Would def recommend it!
I was really disappointed with this one. It was such a downer and was hard for me to even want to pick it up and finish. Granted, I wasn‘t aware of what exactly the story was about. Had I known I could have been better mentally prepared. Immigration, depression , family dynamics , death and adolescence. I finished it but I wouldn‘t recommend it.
Quick read for me. Intriguing and heartbreaking. It is unfathomable the cruelty of genocide. Stories like these are hard to read but they are a must. I can‘t believe that people exist who try to challenge the credibility of the holocaust and it‘s survivors.
The Passage .....#4 of 2019. You know the thing that I always notice about apocalyptic novels and movies is how quickly the world goes to shit. If the zombies ever come we will be DOOMED. Book was alright. I like the beginning and end but found the whole thing to be a bit Wordy at times. I found myself skipping over paragraphs quite often bc they held no value. I‘ll prob audible the 2nd one.
Loved, loved, loved this one ! As a parent I could completely relate to wanting the best for my children! I fell in love with this family and their love for one another! I‘ve been telling everyone about this book! I think it will be a favorite of 2019!
This was a fun one! I loved all the cameo readers #audible. You get the idea that these boys stayed true to each other and never took themselves too seriously. Intro and final chapter was a brother tribute and all love. It‘s a book for music lovers and music maker!
I‘m not typically a nonfiction reader. This was really outside of my box. That being said I was able to read it in its entirety. I highlighted lots of passages and had a lot of takeaways.
You guys already know this was #reesesbookclub pick this month. I decided to start the sample. And by midnight I was already half way through. Very easy and quick read! I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn‘t wait to see how it would all end up!
My mind hasn‘t been able to focus on the words therefore I haven‘t finished a book in awhile. I‘ve started quite a few. The words stayed in focus with this one. A mixture of isolation and strength. Loss and love.
This quote had me walking to the register! Starting this one !
My first author event! Book thief is one of my faves! When I saw MZ was going to be here I couldn‘t pass up the opportunity to see him!
Started this one on audible and went ahead and bought the kindle edition. 1. Because it‘s a great adventure and I can‘t wait to see what happens next and 2. Because this is a book I‘d eventually want my girls to read as they get older! 💗 I wonder if they will make this into a movie? 🤔
#StephenKing has given me a MindFK when it comes to cantaloupe. Not sure I‘ll ever be able to slice one without his vivid descriptiveness coming into play. #read #theoutsider
This one starts off strong ....a real page turner. By the end of it though .....it was just ok. 🤷🏻♀️ It‘s still worth the read.
What a page turner ! I can‘t wait to see how this is all going to play out! Work is getting in the way of my read time! 😑
This has been my latest audible. And I have been mind blown 🤯 listening to it. It‘s an amazing story. It‘s about family, about tragedy and dysfunction, it‘s about a thirst of education and how far it can take you ! One of the best memoirs I have come across! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wanted a book to hold in my hands and pages to turn. Picked this up during my target run today.
Starting the Mars room today. First few pages have me intrigued. I made it past the sample and had to buy.
