It was a slow start, but I eventually got involved in all of the characters' lives. It alternated POV between 5 characters. I liked a lot of the themes in the book, yet there was still something missing to make me love it.

Somewhat predictable but sweet story about five people who are mysteriously invited to a story society where they learn to trust, love, grow and the importance of truth and second chances.
Easy, uplifting read for our book club. Not great literature, but a cozy and pleasant story.
This had an intriguing premise— 5 people are invited to participate in a story society by a mysterious person. If I‘d known this was Christian fiction, I probably wouldn‘t have checked it out. Hoopla didn‘t include that as a subject heading. I only guessed when I noticed the publisher was Thomas Nelson. The Christianity doesn‘t show up until about 3/4s of the way through, where it becomes heavy-handed and detracts from the story. #audiowalk
Wash tipped over his brother in the cat carrier and seems proud of it. I managed to get a walk in before the rain, which was nice because it‘s been a couple of days. I had all day meetings on Thursday & Friday that emotionally exhausted me, so I went to bed when I got home. The language in this book is a little odd. Who says “carnal knowledge” when they are speaking to an ex about their sex life? The story is holding my interest though. #audiowalk
What a sweet book of 5 broken characters coming together to learn to trust and share. A bit of mystery kept it intriguing. Really enjoyed.
Interesting to see how the characters struggle individually and grow together.
Enjoyed the premise, and finding out the secrets of each character. Did not realize that it was Christian fiction until the end, rather than lightly sprinkling Christian theme throughout, it seemed to be poured on at the end. I think it would have been better to lightly sprinkle. Good story, good premise, good characters, so I'd recommend. Of course you now know that's it Christian fiction😉

Here are November goals. Discovery of Witches, is for one of my book clubs this month, but I bailed on it last month. Will wait to try it again. Finished the Last Werewolf. Starting some of the other stories and enjoying them so far. Make a great day everybody.

What does a literature professor, elder maintenance superintendent, a corporate executive assistant, an Uber/ Elite limo driver and Queen of the cosmetics industry have in common? Absolutely nothing-except an anonymous invitation to the Fifth Avenue Story Society intrigues them to discover who is behind this mystery. What they learn about each other just might help them save themselves❤️A feel good page turner😉
Found a quiet corner outside to start this book.
1. It‘s usually suspense stories or mysteries!
2. The Baby-Sitters Club!
3. I‘ve read several good books, and this was one of the best!

Imagine how excited I was to see that Mel Cat had this book in large print! 👀📖
The storyline is extremely moving... I‘ve almost found myself close to tears a few times. 😭 Definitely one of my favorite authors!
I really loved this book! It‘s well written, it‘s heartwarming, it‘s compelling. After finishing the book I realized it was published by a Christian publisher, and I appreciated that the Christian themes were well done and not cheesy like they can sometimes be. This book made me cry at times, made me look at my husband with new eyes, and made me think about the story of my own life. I‘m now dying to be invited to a secret story society! Read it!
“A familiar peace hit him. Happened every time he was with books.”
Finally, MelCat is back up and running!
This was know what I thought it would be in the best way. Five strangers come together with a mysterious invite to a story society. Upon meeting, they realize some of connections to another. Through their weekly meetings, this group finding friendships, loves, healing and forgiveness. It was hard to put down.
July Book 16/20
I don‘t read Christian fiction very often, and didn‘t realize that‘s what this was when I started. But I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it more than I would have expected to, had I known in advance. I‘m not opposed to Christian, it just comes across cheesy most of the time.
Five strangers receive a mysterious invitation to the Fifth Avenue Story Society. As they meet to discover the purpose behind the invitation, they soon discover that their time together is exactly what they never knew they needed.
I love a story that brings people together for reasons they don‘t know. They share their lives, learn from one another, and find much-needed second chances. Experiencing the society at their side made me so, so happy.
I read the e book through NetGalley But the actual book cover is beautiful! The story grabs your attention right away and keeps you wanting to come back for more!Five people, five mysterious invitations. Skeptical but curious enough, all five individuals show up to the first society meeting. After that they continue to meet and grow in friendship learning to trust one another with their long-held secrets. I really enjoyed reading this book!
Rachel Hauck is one of my favorite authors. So so good. Love all of her books.
I really wish that the fifth avenue story society was real because I‘d want an invite. 😃
The Fifth Avenue Story Society by Rachel Hauck is a stand-alone story. Five strangers receive an invitation to the Fifth Avenue Story Society. Each hurting in their own way, and each with the ability to help the others if they will all just trust each other. Then the author had to throw in things that could have been left out, making it more of a secular read than a Christian.
I received this book Celebrate-Lit for my honest review.
The Fifth Avenue Story Society is another beautifully written book by Rachel Hauck that will thrill her followers and garner new fans. The author does something a bit different in this book - the timeline stays in the present but she melds five different characters and their heartaches into a vividly orchestrated story of secrets, grief, forgiveness, and redemption.
Rather than the typical two protagonists in a time-slip, as are in many of Rachel's titles, this book features five unique characters. Each with histories, flaws, redemption, and favorable futures due to the relationships and bonds created through the Story Society. A follow up of a former book character, Birdie and others from The Writing Desk, was a hidden gem for consistent followers of Rachel Hauck.
