I loved the books in this series and I really enjoyed getting the background information of the Sons of Ares.

I think if you hadn't read the books though you would be a little confused even though this is a prequel.

I am so excited because I joined the library of a larger, neighboring town. They have way more graphic novels than our library. I can‘t wait to start Sons of Ares! I have been wanting to read it for ages but could never find it at the book store or our library.

The art is nothing to write home about but as always, the story is engaging. This volume follows Fitchner as he cares for his son Sevro (😍) at the same time he plots revenge for the murder of his wife. Complicated politics, shifting and tenuous alliances, sacrifice and every moment bringing us closer to the formation of the Sons of Ares. If you‘re a fan of Red Rising, this comic is definitely worth a look.

Today‘s #bookmail is key to making it through the wait for the next installment of Brown‘s Red Rising series. Dark Age took a long time and I‘m expecting the next one will too so I‘m excited to have more of Fitchner‘s story for a distraction.

Finished this in what amounts to a single sitting. It‘s been a while since I read the Red Rising series, so I‘m sure I missed some things, but I still really enjoyed seeing the origins of Fitchner and the Sons of Ares. Eagerly awaiting a second volume (assuming there is one)

Graphic novel prequel to the Red Rising series. Nice to get Sevro‘s origin story, and keeps me excited for the next book.

I had surgery last week and so I haven‘t been able to concentrate a lot on reading, but I started this graphic novel today and I‘m really enjoying it! #currentlyreading

I love the Red Rising books and this graphic novel was a cool adventure in that world. It gives some backstory to characters. What I liked best about it was the visualization of the world I have read so much in.

Hi Litsy! Long time no see! This month has been crazy busy for me but I found some time this weekend to read this beauty. While not as good as the Red Rising books, I still enjoyed this graphic novel about Fitchner and the
beginnings of the Sons. The art style is very gritty and the character designs don't match my mental images of Fitchner and the cities but it was a nice return to the world of Red Rising.

I opened up my Book Riot email this morning to find this as the first announcement! Maybe everyone else already knew about this but it excited me. In case you didn‘t know this is going to be the Prequel to The Red Rising series!!!!! Woooohoooo!!! Way to make a girl happy!!!! Anyone else excited about this and love Red Rising. And let‘s not forget how cute Pierce Brown is!!!! Just had to mention that! 😂😂

Issue #4 is out today, but not in the Litsy database. Really loving the additional backstory detail for the Sons of Ares. Still not a fan of the artwork. It's just not visually appealing to me, but the story brings me back for more. Issue #5 out next month!
