When the past shows up I. A negative way great read 🙌🏽📖… I‘m really sad that I‘m getting to the end of this series I‘m heading into #52 with a little heavier heart that I‘m getting to where I have to wait for the next book to come out … oh well I guess it‘s something I‘ll have to look forward to 😊📖

robinb I still have a few to read (I TRY to wait until the price comes down a little as I like to purchase physical copies of these 😊). But I know what you mean! I wish my favorite series could go on forever. 💙 8mo
Ddzmini @robinb I try to get second hand when I can it helps but with this series I just used credits I had with my kindle and I‘ve been lucky to get them or most of them on my kindle 8mo
robinb @Ddzmini I do have some on my Kindle as well. But I love the series so much I‘ve started collecting paper copies (mostly from ThriftBooks). 8mo
Ddzmini @robinb … same 🙌🏽😊 8mo

I know a lot of people are tired of this series, especially since this is number 51, but I still love it. When I read a book in the series, it's like I am reconnecting with old friends.

Eve's death investigation has a connection to someone in Roarke's past. The sub is out for vengeance on Roarke. Can Eve and the NYPD bring him down, before those close to Roarke get hurt?

Finished this one yesterday. Another great book in the In Death series. This time we know who the killer is, and it's personal, going all the way back to Roarke's childhood. And the whole force is behind getting this guy who has over 400 kills and is now after Roarke and Eve. A fabulous story in the series.

🤫 I‘m reading at work because no one‘s here today and it‘s been quiet.

Another great installment of the In Death series, this time bringing someone from Roarke‘s past. This is book no. 51 and 52 is out this spring in hardcover. I do appreciate that JD Robb is a writing machine. 😆

Twainy On 2/28 at 11:50PM I realized I had 15 Hoopla loans unused for February .... Faithless in Death was one of my choices 😁 I‘ve never read even one of her books. 😲 4y
wanderinglynn @Twainy her books are formulaic and predictable but fun. Light, easy fun reading. 👍🏻 4y
Twainy I‘m on board for fluff books!!! 4y

My Amazon 3 for 2 order finally arrived after being misrouted to another base. I‘m starting with JD Robb—so glad she writes fast! 😆 #bookhaul

BeeMagical I have the pink version of the Burn 🔥 journal - love it! I wish Amazon🇨🇦 had deals like that!!😱 3/2 is a steal!🙌🏻 4y
wanderinglynn @BeeMagical yes, it was a good deal. I looked at the pink version because it is the newer version, but blue is my favorite color. 😆 4y
Apostcardlife Wow! That collage book is super intriguing! 👀 4y

I originally was going to order these from Target, as Target is also having a buy 2 get one free sale. But Target wouldn‘t ship them to me (Target is hit or miss with shipping to FPOs). So I caved & ordered them from Amazon. #bookhaul

Megabooks Yeah, it‘s hard to say no that deal. I didn‘t. The Color of Law is excellent!! 4y
wanderinglynn @Megabooks I did finally cancel my Audible account. But it‘s hard not to shop at Amazon when they actually ship to me. Because it‘s not like I can go to a bookstore. Well, I can, but I can‘t read Japanese 😆 4y
Reign_5.0 Where do you live if you don't mind me asking? I kept my audible only because if I don't like the book I can switch it for another. 4y

SnowFlower @wanderinglynn The Hamilton biography is excellent! The author is an excellent researcher! And this is the book they used to base the Hamilton play off of. Dune is simply magnificent! I am half way into the book and I just love it! I am so excited for the movie coming out this year! The director of the Dune movie also did Blade Runner 2049. 4y
wanderinglynn @SnowFlower yes, I‘ve heard great things about the bio. I‘ve read Dune before, but didn‘t have my own copy. 4y
TheSpineView Great book haul! I no longer use Amazon. I don't want to support there poor business practices. They are getting too big for their breeches in my opinion. If you want I will be glad to be an intermediary for you. 4y
wanderinglynn @TheSpineView I agree. That‘s why I cancelled my Audible account. Thanks for the offer. 😘 4y
Rodrigo002 One wants to order a book and then 5 show up where one says I should get those too. Truth is no matter how many you buy, at the end you always wish you could get more. 4y
wanderinglynn @Rodrigo002 too true! 😆 4y
Twainy All I‘m seeing is March 4th 😖 holy smokes what a wait!! I hope you‘re not a Prime member 🤨🤗 4y
wanderinglynn @Twainy I am a Prime Member. It‘s one of the disadvantages of living overseas. We can only get mail via USPS. And if it goes through some port in San Fran, it can take months! Although, I will say that usually Amazon delivers faster than their estimate. 4y

I read this when it came out and really enjoyed it. It was a solid addition to the series. Good plot and as always enjoyable seeing our favorite characters. And as we don't get out and about the city much these days, it was also a joy to read about it.

While futuristic NYC cop procedurals may sound odd as a comfort read, that's what JD Robb is for me. The prior book was one of the few books I devoured during my early pandemic reading slump.

Panpan

Book 2, audio

This is by far my least favorite of the In Death series.
I was tracking right up until the end when Eve and the top brass of the NYPD condone and cover up the brutal beating of a suspect (yeah he did it, but innocent until proven guilty, right?) for purely personal reasons while operating outside their jurisdiction.

I never expected to "pan" a Roberts book, but feel free to skip this and maintain your respect for Eve and Roark.

I was disappointed in this episode of Eve and Roarke. I was excited to get things from Roarke‘s point of view, but things just kind of dragged in the hunt for a killer from Roarke‘s past. It was good, but didn‘t live up to my expectations for this series.

I think some of the search just got repetitive and I missed some of the family/ friends moments that were lacking in this book.

Until I saw the latest book charts I had NO IDEA there were so many books in this series! I‘d heard of it but I‘ve never read any.

Anyone a fan? Are they worth a read?

I can‘t think of any other series with so many entries. Between these and her Nora Roberts books she must be rivalling Stephen King with how many books she puts out!

BookwormM I love this series it gets stronger as it goes on 4y

I like the In Death series even though sometimes it is too predictable. I‘ve read these for years and think they are fun, easy reads that I enjoy the continuation of the characters stories. That being said, I‘m hoping the books start getting more character development or shake things up somehow (not a main character death though but maybe a good life event) otherwise they will start to become boring.
