Welcome back to Virgin River with the books that inspired the hit Netflix series... John "Preacher" Middleton is closing Jack's Bar when a woman and her young son come in out of the wet night. A marine who has seen his share of pain, Preacher knows a crisis when he sees one--the woman is covered in bruises. He wants to protect them, and to punish whoever did this, but he knows immediately that this is more than just instinct. Paige Lassiter has stirred up emotions in this gentle giant of a man--emotions that he has never allowed himself to feel. Then Paige's ex-husband turns up in Virgin River. And if there's one thing the marines' motto of Semper Fidelis--always faithful--has taught Preacher, it's that some things are worth fighting for.

Don‘t get me wrong, I LOVE the Netflix series, but this is way better. Stalled my whole Saturday because I had to keep reading. This book is devoted to the love story of Paige and Preacher without neglecting the continued life of Jack and Mel.

I love Preacher in the Netflix show, so I really loved reading his story! This was an easy, enjoyable read. Now I‘m ready for Paige to return in the next season!

Eh. This one didn‘t really capture me. It bored me most of the time. I also didn‘t like the younger pregnancy storyline, any part of it.

Late breakfast and an audiobook. My día de los muertos mug, advent wreath I haven‘t put away, and one of my kids toys as my decoration.

There are things bugging me about this one. The pregnancy storyline feels irresponsible, and I can‘t help wondering what all their political views would be. Can‘t disappear into this one like I could into the last two.

Finished this one on a rainy Sunday (the perfect kind of Sunday). This one touched on some tough issues and was a good read. Loved the romance and the couples that are emerging. It‘s clearly different from the show, but I‘m loving both. This was my #bookspin this month and I‘m glad to have another book read off my shelves!

May the coffee be strong this morning. Not a lot of sleep and up early taking care of a loved one who had surgery yesterday. Enjoying this book as A light, fun romance. Attempting to get it done before October!

I liked it even more than the first book in the series!! This is #2 in the Virgin River series. Instead of focusing mostly on one couple, Ms. Carr gave us more from multiple characters while continuing to feature and further the story of the characters from the first book. A couple of scenes were suspenseful and emotional, and several made me smile. I‘m LOVING this series and excited to continue the stories of the people in this community.

I read Virgin River many years ago and book 2 has been sitting on my Nook ever since. I am so glad I finally read it! I loved returning to this little town. This one had several story lines going on with of course a cute romance at the center. I started watching the Netflix show too. Book 48 4⭐️

Loving this series so far. This one was even more of an emotional roller coaster with multiple character focus but it all tied together nicely. I can‘t wait to start the next one.

I liked the first book of the Virgin River series more but this was still a fantastic book. I had some laugh out loud moments with this one and also some very fear filled moments. I‘m really enjoying the gang of characters in the Virgin River area. Really easy going reads! 😍❤️🌳

I started reading the Virgin River series when I found out Netflix was making a series based on it. Sometimes you just need a comfort read when your "other" book starts to let you down.
