The Unhoneymooners meets The Hating Game in this breezy debut romantic comedy about life--and love--30,000 feet above the ground. After ten years as a flight attendant, Ava Greene is poised to hang up her wings and finally put down roots. She's got one trip left before she bids her old life farewell, and she plans to enjoy every second of it. But then she discovers that former pilot Jack Stone--the absurdly gorgeous, ridiculously cocky man she's held a secret grudge against for years--is on her flight. And he has the nerve to flirt with her, as if he doesn't remember the role he played in the most humiliating night of her life. Good thing she never has to see him again after they land.... But when their plane encounters mechanical problems, what should have been a quick stop at the Belize airport suddenly becomes a weekend layover. Getting stuck on a three-hour flight with her nemesis was bad enough. Being stranded with him at a luxury resort in paradise? Even with the sultry breeze and white sand to distract her, it will take all the rum punch in the country to drown out his larger-than-life presence. Yet the more time Ava spends with him under the hot Caribbean sun, the more she begins to second-guess everything she thought she knew about him...and everything she thought she wanted from her life. And all too soon, she might have to choose between keeping her feet on the ground and her head in the clouds....

This book was freakin adorable 🥰 Though I tend to shy away from #RomCom and #EnemiesToLovers tropes, this book managed to capture my heart with its fun, flirty banter and romantic sizzle. Set on the sexy island of #Belize two flight attendants are stuck having to partner up on an unscheduled layover despite their frosty friendship. The author is a flight attendant so this book felt authentic in regards to aviation rules & policies.

Cute rom com about flight attendants. I love that Ava discovers how to be true to herself and finds love in the process. I like how Jack is quirky for a leading man, and I found Gen, Paul and the other supporting cast to be equally enjoyable. Sure, there are a few stereotypes in this debut novel, but the pacing is good, the romance is sweet, and the setting (Belize) is gorgeous.

Cute!!!! Easy read with believable characters, flaws, and resolutions. I really liked learning about the flight attendant life & although some events were a little bit of a stretch (glitter plane 😂), I still thought this was a fun story! Not so much Unhoneymooners, but expect a smidge of The Hating Game.

@Bookwormjillk Thank you so much for the #lcs #littlechristmasswap! The book looks like a great getaway from the winter blahs. 😁 And I‘ve already hidden the candy from the locusts who live here. Hahaha! @bookish_wookish

What, exactly, is the etiquette for dinner with a stranger that has turned into a family squabble...😂

TrishB I had never heard of Emily Post before this week and now she‘s been mentioned twice! How weird. 2y

So, confession: I don't think I've ever read a romance that I actually found romantic. The focus so often seems to be on the physical attraction that the buildup to the relationship gets lost for me. This one, though, I found really romantic. I related to a lot of elements and I loved that it was a romantic comedy that didn't jump straight to sex.

Mehso-so

Been in a reading slump lately but finally found the time and energy to start reading again. This one was so so leaning towards pan. The description compares it to The Unhoneymooners. Um no, honey. The only similarity was there was a beach. First half was decent but the rest was rushed and uncoordinated. Like in a matter of pages everything with her engagement, living situation and life and settled just like poof! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

CoffeeAndABook @Cinfhen Yesss!! I just finished PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION by Emily Henry, which was fun!! I‘m also reading Irvin Yalom‘s autobiography - so fascinating. For brain candy I just started the tagged book and it‘s pretty fluffy but will be perfect for all the traveling home by ferry, plane and train!! 🤪 3y
CoffeeAndABook @BarbaraBB We‘re on Amorgos, a small Cycladic island. We‘re traveling to Santorini by ferry tomorrow and flying home from there the day after. Where in Greece did you stay for your vacation? Isn‘t it just gorgeous?? 🌺 3y
CoffeeAndABook @Jas16 Thank You!! It‘s just stunning here, it‘s definitely worth a trip. I can‘t believe our time is up and we‘re leaving already!! 😫 3y
MicheleinPhilly It is tough to leave, isn‘t it? Safe travels! 3y
Cinfhen Safe travels home xx glad you found time to read & unwind 💗 3y
BarbaraBB We were sailing there. I loved it. We sailed from Athens and although I‘d loved to go to Amorgos and Santorini those two islands were too far away. Instead we went to Sifnos, Folegandros, Ios, Mykonos, Paros, Andros and Kea. I am still thinking about it! 3y
DivineDiana It‘s easy to see why! ☕️📚 🌊 3y
CoffeeAndABook @MicheleinPhilly so tough 😩 am already trying to figure out the earliest possible time we could return!! ✨ But at least we have so many wonderful memories stored up, right?? 3y
CoffeeAndABook @BarbaraBB Wow, that trip sounds magical!! Island hopping by sailboat ⛵️ I‘ll certainly bet you‘re still thinking about it. 😉 All of those islands I still want to visit!! 🤩💭 3y
